July 2014 Kho Phnagnan Full Moon Party, need help with transport situation....

Hi I kinda screwed up and got a flight from UTP that arrives in USM at 18:25 but the last ferry to Had Rin departs at 18:30. I also pre-booked and paid for my room. I arrive July 11 which is two days before Full Moon Party so I am hoping private charter boats will be running to ferry people over but problem is all the prices I see online are really high like 19,000Baht and up, are these only online rates for single person, single charter? Will there be lots of other options after last ferry and/or others I can pair up with? Anyone have similar experience(s)?

 

Found this site but it doesn't say what days it operates got reply back from them and they were really vague with a firm answer, which makes me skeptical of their services and/or charges. Says 900Baht but has to be with several other people.

 

Oh Hi and I promise to post on the board during my trip. July 4--August 11. Staying in Pattaya mostly but wanted to do a side trip to the Full Moon party on Kho Phangnan since I have never been.

Just confirmed from the boat service, price is for Full Moon Party night only, so need other options cuz not gonna pay ridiculous charter prices.

A one-way trip UTP-USM on July 10th is coming up at 4500 baht.

Plus you will need a cheap place for the night.

Don't know what effect that would have on my flight I already booked and paid for online. I arrive in Pattaya tonight at 10PM, so plan on going to a travel agency first thing in the morning in Pattaya to try and get things sorted. Not sure how much they can do cuz flight was booked online but its worth a shot. Also maybe they have info for boat to island on July 11, or possibly change to the earlier flight from UTP and pay the difference.

 

Any travel office in Pattaya you guys can recommend? I am staying around Soi 14 and 15 area just off Walking Street close to 2nd Road.

Got it sorted, best way was to just book from BKK--USM, cost me 1700B extra but arrival time is now 3:30, so gives me ferry options for same day arrival to Kho Phangnan. Still returning to UTP.

Yes an obvious alternative...... duh for me!

Not that much difference in time to Swampy airport than it is to UTP!

Yeah I had no idea the travel time to UTP was about an hour, thought it was much closer. Still gonna return there, want to check out the airport. I am an airport and train geek, like trying different types of public transportation in different countries. Recently I did a cross country Amtrak train in the US, Chicago to LA $700 Rountrip for sleeper car and it includes all meals. Trip takes 2 days.
