NeeRoys soi Chiapoon of Soi Buakhow

Recommended Posts

Has anyone eaten there lately? I used to eat there all the time but have not been to Pattaya for almost 4 years and am returning next year, During that time the owners wife Nee has died and Roy has returned to England as he was not well. I was told that the restaurant was passed to family of Nee's and I want to know if its still as good as it used to be ,because I had one friend tell me it had gone down hill, and that would sadden me quite a bit as it was always my default eatery, as well as a place to socialise.

Last time I looked the place seemed very quiet. I imagine with less numbers of tourists arriving in Pattaya it will soon be gone especially with large amount of competition in the immediate vicinity. I remember when the only two cafes were Crazy Daves and Seaside 2 and the handy little Thai food place on the far side of where the Triangle Bar now stands where chicken noodle soup was 30 baht.

I have to say it was more the social aspect that I liked as I could go there at any time and there was always someone I had met or talked to before, I spent an awfully long time in that particular place, so it will be harder to replace the venue than to replace the food. Its very like an old bar I used to frequent further along Soi Buakhow Called the Pineapple bar, it has not closed , at least I don't think it has, but the staff changed and all the regulars that made it such a jolly place to spend your time all went their separate ways. Which was shame because I spent many late nights in there or out on the terrace (sidewalk)putting the world to rights with some good old boys.

I also picked up some great girls going home past the bar after a night in their own bar , saving the bar fine and still having a great night. The Pineapple was strictly a food and drink joint so no problem for them.
