If anyone's checking flights for august and sees any good deals please let me know. I'm looking at around the 9th as it's the tg's birthday on the 13th.

Prices I've seen so far are way too steep but she's seen me on my birthday for the last 2 years and she's gonna get the hump if I don't celebrate her's soon.

Cheers

August fares are, in general higher than some other times.

However there are sometimes some good deals to be had if you want to rick a late booking

Gus ,

That is a good price from Eva plus it would put my evergreen miles up to 45+ thousand .

The problem is I've already got 4 weeks booked from the 18th of this month.Basically I'll be coming back skint.

With tax that's going to make the price around 550 gbp

At the moment the cheaper the better is good.

Maybe I'll just have to bring some shirts back to flog.

Val,

I've worked for airfreight firms at Heathrow all my life .

I used to take advantage of the cheap courier flights with Bridges/vs & polar/Ba. I didn't think they did them anymore. The other onbord courier firms I've seen on the net all want a signing on fee with no guarantee of

finding you a flight.Any recomendations you have  I'd be interested in.I've done hundreds of handcarrries in my time . Unfortunately never to Los . God I wish I'd found Thailand in my twenties.

Thanks

Sparkey

DONT fly Turkish Airlines.

They have a nasty habit of rescheduling, up to and including the day or even hour of departure.

Probaby due to the few aircraft they have available on that route.

Similar problems with Philippine Airlines many years ago.

They only had 2 VERY old 747's on the Manilla-London route and if one broke down (as they did on a regular basis) you just had to hope they put you on the next flight. Only in VERY rare cases would they put you on another Manilla bound flight

I'd rather walk than fly Turkish

Yer pays yer money, you takes yer choice.

Word of advice. Get yourself an MBNA CC. If you pay for your flight with the CC you get a limited travel insurance.

The section of interest is the Travel Delay section:

If your flight is delayed for eight hours or more you can spend £250 on food and accommodation.

Far better than the £20 after 12 hours most TI offers.

Nice one  ::)  Are you drunk? Two stops on the return?!??

EVA Air direct flight £547.70 inc tax and then you come up with......

Gulf Air, with nearly 19 hour flights each way with two stops on the return; £521 inc tax

R u taking the p*ss?

Turkish Airlines; 12hrs 40 mins out, 16hrs 20 mins back, for £100 less.

I'm thinking that you are residing on a different planet from the rest of us. Lay off the hashish.

  • 2 weeks later...

hi, sparkey. i will be going to los late july & to be honest it is better to wait rather than book now.as the prices are sky high (no pun intended)

all you need to do is wait until you are 2 months away then make enquiries & i guartantee you will get better offers.

it is a bit like buying a car, don't splash out on the first deal that comes along!

we always go out in a party of 3, so we are restricted by work commitments etc.

having said that, we never pay over the odds!
