Temporary Driver's License valid for two years

I got my temporary driver's license at the Land Transport Office (LTO) today. I was a bit surprised to see that it is valid for two years. To be certain this was not a scrivener's error, I did a Google search when I got home. Apparently, this was a change effective March of last year. I would note, it is a "license" and not a "licence."

 

Also, 3pm is on a Thursday was a great time to go to the LTO with very few customers there.
