Armenia on Jomtien: Borsch and chicken kebab

Amit Kulkarni ( a very popular chef on the FB ) recommended the place, so I had high exceptations... But sadly the bad overture, no ice in the glass. ( not to mention the slice of lime ) Asked the service girl for ice and the shocking reply: „ Solly, no hab ice. „ Ouch... true, the small bottle soda was 25 baht.

The borsch was the opposite experience... It was an almost perfect borsch, I was simple thrilled to see the sour cream and the fresh dill on the top. Everything must be on the plate ( not only beetroot, but cabbage and potato ) I found in the soup... the bortsch must be made with beef, but in this soup the meat was pork, what isn’t a major fault and the quantity of the meat was enough... too pity, the pork was undercooked and hard. All in all, it was a pleasant taste adventure... ( 95 baht )

The chicken kebab arrived as I like it: wrapped. The pita was simple perfect for a kebab, handmade, ligt, delicious..... but hey... it is totally cold. I mentioned it to the service girl, who just stared on me with a grin... The first bite... a cold bite... The second bite... now I felt some hot ingredients, the grilled, tender and delicious chicken cubes in some really well made sauce, simple tasted good.

Personally I like the many vegetables in the pita roll, but IMO anyway, must to dominate the meaty part... not in this case.

All in all I liked the kebab, despite of the insufficiencies.... IF it was made properly, by the original concept, I would say: one of the best chicken kebab I had... But sadly I can’t say it today. ( 75 baht )

Verdict: I have mixed feelings.... the original concept is excellent, but the implementation... how to say ? Not so.... One word comes to my mind: remissness....
