khit tueng jaa is as those have already mentioned the same as 'miss you'... the  'ja'  makes it in a sweet loving sort of way.     not to be confused with 'khit tueng jang or khit tueng jang loi' which mean to miss you really very much.    just so you know  :)  later

yes you can........   but, a better way to say it without using 'rudementary' thai is to say:  'khit tueng jang loi'  or 'khit tueng loi loi'     then you will sound like you know what your doing!  :)          ler cher kup!  la chock dee

You might hear "Tilak jah".  The correct response is "jah"

Hi Pat,

I thought "jah" was a phrase that only females used ? Don`t think I`ve ever heard a thai male used it.

the 'ja'can be used by both male and female. it since the tone cannot change to add 'sweetness' the ja is added. though usually to preclude a request. such as 'tee rak ja..... can you bring me more toilet tissue' or 'mae ja.... can i have 500 baht to buy some candy'

khit(H) theung ® - per my Thai teacher means "think you" and jaa is a

term of familiarity or endearment.

So, Khit Theung jaa means Thinking of you, dear. I guess missing you

is close enough... or idiomatic.
