Bahrain 12 hour layover with Gulf

Recommended Posts

Hi all, I have made a pretty big ricket with my flight home and rushed to buy a ticket without fully reading the flight times, so  I have ended up with a ridiculous 12 hour  layover in Bahrain. My question is can I leave the airport and is there enough time for a quick rush round Bahrain for a bit of sightseeing?. If that's not a great idea does anyone know how much the lounge is ? as I could do with a decent seat and a bit of grub whilst I wait half a day. I should add I use a mobility scooter to get around so transport needs to be fairly accommodating.

Well UK passport could enter no visa some years ago when I was in the area. I think I am out of date wrt the airport too, in the past I would have said definitely not the place to spend a long time, even in the Mahaber lounge! You got plenty of time to tour around, it is a small Island and not a lot to see... a shopping Mall and a souk market. If it is daytime it will be hot and humid. The mobility scooter might be an issue though. Sorry if of little help.

I worked there for 6 months. One of the smaller malls has a mainly filipino blowjob bar and there is a Thai bar there at night too.

Not the place to be on a "muslim weekend" as they all drive in over the bridge sober and return ratassed with their balls emptied .....

Too long ago to be of any use to the OP though ..

Sorry!

Get into the lounge & sample the local cuisine. Get some sleep.

I recall one hotel that had an isolated floor where tarts lived, and you could call a number and get one to come to your room. IIRC they were mostly from Eastern Europe back then. Again it is decades ago for me too.

This seems like activity that could get one banged up, & it would be even easier to get nicked by the Bobby if you do not know where you're heading & are asking about.

I remember being loose with the rules in a middle Eastern country & we ended up getting a little in the shit for being drunk in public, just for trying to get a cab.
