Mobile phone hire?

Hi Guys, Is it possible to hire a moby in Pattaya that would get me international calls?,

and if so would it require a second mortage to pay for it?.

What I did a couple years ago on one of my trip was to go to MBK in Bangkok and purchased a used phone. I got the '1 2 call' system and with the phone sim card with number and a little time. When the time runs down you can recharged the phone. I think I paid a total of 2,000 baht for the phone and the first sim card.

 

It wasn't the most fancy phone you can get, but served the purpose. The trouble I was running into, was letting the time expire and had to get a new number when coming back to the LOS. What I did this past December is buy extra time and wen I return in April, I will have the same number.

 

It come in handy with the girls, you can call them or give them your number to call you. Also was good with keeping up with my friends that were in Thailand at the same time by calling or using text message. I give the number to my work and friends back home, and they can give me a call.

If you are only a short trip(a couple of weeks or so) and are not stopping in Bkk, at least three networks operators have representation at the airport.

 

If spending trip in Pattaya, Orange is as good as any.

 

Otherwise, a diversion via the MahBoonKhrong Centre opposite Siam(See-am) Square, can net you a serviceable mobile telephone for as little as 1000 baht, with a local (pay as u use) SIM card(HappyDprompt/One2Call/Orange) coming in at as little as 250 baht.

Thanks Guys, as I am staying for maybe 8 weeks or more I think I'll go for Leos'

option and buy second hand.
