is anyone familiar with cathay's all asia pass?

r/t ticket from west coast to hong kong and 21 days of unlimited travel to/from select cities in asia.

wondering if anyone has ever done this and if there is much of a hassle getting seating.

personally thinking using it around christmas, stop in hk for a day of two, go to singapore for a day or two then to batan for a few days and then to ac-pi for a week and then the rest of the time in pattaya.

any comments aprreciated

thinking of it as a lbfm smorgasboard :eyecrazy :banghead

I used it last November. I was happy with it, but there was a hassle finding a travel agent that knew anything about it. You must use a travel agent -- see the rules on their website. And there may be blackout dates or surcharges around Christmas.

First go to their website and register to be a cyber traveler to qualify for the discount. If your not already aware, this promotion doesn't allow you to earn frequent flyer miles. I'm not positive, but I think that you'll have to be flying through Hong Kong on each of these trips.

I used the All Asia Pass last November. Emil is correct...You have to travel through Hong Kong and you can only visit a city(other than HK) once. I used it to fly to Bangkok and Manila. You can extend the pass beyond 21 days for $100.00. They also charge extra if you fly on the weekend.

This is a good deal if you can make it work for you over the dates you want to travel.

do you have to "pre book" flights once in HK or can you just go to the ticket counter once your in Asia?
