Manchester Airport announced yesterday that BackpackerXpress will, despite the protestations of Crackhead, commence twice weekly flights to Delhi, Bangkok and Melbourne commencing on 1 November. Flights will operate from Terminal 1 going out at 23:00 on Mon and Thu and arriving back on Wed and Sun at 04:55.

The airline also has a new website which includes a bit more info than the previous one:

BackpackerXpress

No prices yet but the tickets will be a year-round price and "unrestricted" i.e. changes will be allowed to dates of travel.

Representatives from Etihad also visited the airport (and Glasgow) last week so it may be even more options for the northern based guys in the future.

Tom I dont think the Backpackerexpress people have got us sex tourists in mind !

QUOTE FROM THEIR WEBSITE

"When you use your funclub funcard with our accredited partners you also accumulate loyalty bonuses which are easily redeemable. "

I wonder if Pete has signed up with funclub yet ?. Perhaps you will be able to use the card at Peppermint !.

"backpackersXpress will provide a network of accredited hostels and other accommodations at our destinations and surrounds. Our accredited partners will be selected for their ability to provide quality accommodation, A1 hospitality and the best value for money to our members"

I dont think they have the Penthouse Hotel in Mind as a potential partner.

backpackersXpress funjets will provide competitive fares year round (no seasonal adjustments) with no penalties for itinerary changes and the return legs won't expire after twelve months. The tickets expire by geography not time.

This definitely is different.

Still the more the merrier !. I'm booked on Emirates 13 July. Roll On !.

daveuk,

It was the bit about live entertainment and dance competitions that caught my eye. I just assumed they had installed half a dozen chrome poles in the pub! :livid
