I just walk out the door and tell the guys/gals with the clipboards that ask "Where you go?" - that "I go Pattaya" - it is 1650 Baht - 1500 for the trip and 150 for the tolls.....in a car - not a metered taxi. You can try to bargain it down a few baht - but why waste time. You can also holler out...."ANYONE else going to pattaya" - and hope to share the cost

There is a mini-van service at the airport to take you to Pattaya, just make that request and I'm sure you will find one..

Cost of the van was 1800 plus tolls. Fair price IMHO.

The official price from the taxi-meter booth at the airport to Pattaya is 1200baht. The price is displayed on the counter of the booth but the workers usually try to cover it up with forms or clipboards. Often they ask for extra to pay the tolls.

 

 

just pay the 1200 official price and give the driver the toll money when in the cab.

 

 

Hardly rocket science.
