RG v Marriott

Having stayed at RG and HRH can someone please tell me about the Marriott v RG distance to FLB>

I'd say they were pretty close to the same distance to FLB and would take about the same amount of time to walk to from either place. Same with a baht bus...a straight shot down Beach, then a walk from the beginning of W.S. to FLB (fairly far towards the south end of W.S.) or a baht bus from R.G. and hop off by the VC and a shorter walk from there to FLB, you just have to walk through the VERY loud music that always is blaring from those beer bars...

So the VC is at the corner...Great as I remember from 3 years ago that the Baht bus up the hill to RG strarts at the corner! Now what is the Soi I ouwld walk down?

From the looks of the map at bahtbus.com the street would be soi marine plaza, which turns into soi lucky star about halfway to Beach road. The "VC" you referred to is the VC hotel on the corner of soi VC and Pratamnak road, just down from the RG.

 

BTW, nice avatar! Where did you pick that one up?

FYI..Any area around the VC Hotel is somewhat "undesirable", as it's an Arab thing. I usually try to avoid that area as I don't like the loud Arab rap music and the stares from the people...

 

Actually, if your looking at a place close to the FLB, try the Windy Inn or Right Spot Inn

 

Then again it's not in the same class as the RG....

 

When I would come from the RG, I would get off at the Diamond Beach sign{left side} and cut through to Walking St.

I have heard that terrorits RandR in Pattaya and even worse. Suicide bombers

get a big bash of booze and girls before there final mission and I can see Pattaya as a perfect departing gift. No, Ahab the Arab is no friend of mine and I'll be damed if I'll let men who approve of destroying they women both mentally and phyiscally with that "operation" to prevent the women from haveing sexual pleasure! I'll stay at the good old American Marriott and avoid Soi Towel!
