To be honest, the ones on the beach rd seem to work pretty well. (traffic is hardly moving anyhow), I am pleasantly surprised. Other than beach rd whether they are obeyed or ignored seems to be a bit random... and have become the usual game of chicken and might has right you see at other junctions. As a footsoldier, you have little might....

You should avoid that guy........ I get stopped regular by the police these days, their habit being just to pull over all those on a motorcycle, and they like one of the routes I use often. I like this, I have found that they wave me on when they check I have the required paperwork.... unlike many years ago when they always claimed I was speeding (no method of measuring my speed whatsoever, requiring the on-the-spot fine).

It is all good news that this engine issue sounds as if it has been resolved.... Although I might feel a twinge of concern if I ws boarding a Quantas A380 at Sydney for the long trip to London.... Might prefeer to get on the BA 747.......not!

Thais would likely not make the initial investment on the craft.....Perhaps a small market of loved up mongers taking their sweeties to (and back) a quieter environment... dontcha has just booked! I wouldn't compare it to the minibus via Bangkok, which is hell on wheels, but the backpacker type tourist would do that. The average Pattaya or Hua Hin tourist has 2 weeks hotel paid already and at 3.5 hours and 3200 baht it is too much for a day trip when Koh Lahn is easier. There are some very nice places to visit South of Hua Hin, and worthy of a trip... but own vehicle is better.

Until the extension expires... it says so on it. If you leave without an exit-reentry permit, the extension is cancelled. You would need to get a new non-Imm O unless that had some time and entries left on it. Getting another extension should be as much effort as the first one was. Same hoops to jump through. I do not see why the extension should not be granted on a single Non-Imm (I just did mine again, straightforward)... but I would be tempted to get a multi non-Imm (if you can afford the trips out of the country every 90 days), as you could go 15 months before having to go through those hoops.

Hello Gonzo, has Thrappaya been finished yet...............like hell it has! Talking of shit-holes, the OP mentioned the prime one, India. Generally on my visa runs I have taken the TGF, and that means a different catalogue of requirements. I will do Bali again next month too. I am far too old to take on the trials and tribulations and stomach problems of India!
