I have a good friend who has a beautiful big house located just the East side of Third Rd. I wouldn't live there for a gold pig. There is a Karaoke nearby, which hardly gets any customers, but drunken howlings persist until 4-5am many nights. Even an enjoyable evening with the beers on his upper floor terrace was spoiled for me by this background howling. I live out in the sticks but frequent disturbances are common, dogs, funerals, Buddah days (the Wat and town council has a speaker system wired all over the place). Don't expect a peaceful life retired in Thailand unless you are deaf or can afford double glazing!
