  1. No, we are better than that, we are the world champions at losing.
  2. Glenne Headly
  3. Yes you will need...Documents needed for renewal of Thai driving license: 1. Passport + 1 signed copy of each - (a) 'face' page, ( non-immigration visa page, © current TM6 card & latest entry stamp page. 2. Photos are no longer required as they use digital photo images engraved on a hard 'credit-card' style permit. Ladies - please note that you must have your shoulders covered for official photos. 3. Letter of 'Fit-to-drive' from Doctor - 200 baht (must be less than 30 days old). 4. 1 residence certificate from Pattaya Immigration (dated within 30 days of renewal). 5. Money 665 (500+55) baht for car - 365 baht for motor-cycle. 6. Your old Thai driving license(s). (A 'TM6 card' refers to the Immigration Departure card attached to your passport during your stay in Thailand. It has a reference number (TM6) that tells where & when you entered Thailand) (The letter of 'Fit-to-drive' from a Doctor is again required)
  4. No, it is definitely 800k in the bank here. Even a foreign currency account in LOS would not qualify.
  5. Revenge for 1996?
  6. A local lass...Marsha Thomason..... Mostly UK TV but some flicks....
  7. I always thought it was too cheap lately......When I first started coming here not many from the UK were coming. It was overseas workers (men from the Middle East) and older couples. Those on benefits seem to make it over now.

  10. Yeah I keep getting emails from one where the attachments or photos are 'missing'......It's even more disturbing when he comes round and insists on trying to show me things on it. I keep telling him to chuck the infuriating thing in the pool.
  11. And therein lies the problem. For me Skype presents an exercise in frustration.
  12. Acccept your info and recommendation, but last time I offloaded virus protection I seemed to get a lot of complications. (That was getting Norton off after Joe panned it!)It is an old lappy and I don't worry about it too much.
  13. Further to this... I bit the bullet and Upgraded to AVG Free 9.0 on the GFs XP driven Laptop. I did it per the instructions and everything looks good.... although quite a few restarts were required.
  14. It might not be guaranteed if you have a police record......
  15. Anelka......
  16. Was that Godfather 1 or 2?
  17. Twas a bit Tongue-in-cheek Tom.Up here in Pattaya, the GO-GOs have pretty much given up on the law......... But you have a point..... a smoking boss/owner isn't likely to impose restrictions. I got back last night and the GF complained I stink of the ciggies.... places were devoid of customers so even the bored girls were puffing on the moron-sticks. But I think I spotted Ricky in Babydolls sporting one of those nicotine inhalers that glow violet at the end last night.... but later he was back on regular nails.....a smoky illusion??
  18. You want another one that can be caught thieving........?A friend had this issue..... with every single cashier he ever hired, up to hiring a relative. Still under evaluation perhaps. Good luck....
  19. These barowners, they think they are above the rules and laws. Some even allow smoking in their bars......
  20. Ain't that true.... I just got back from one, the UK.The airport here makes the service in the UK look like Timbuktu.
  21. Doesn't make sense to me, you find out a one way ticket costs more than a return so you book 2 one-way tickets..... Not a long trip my arse.... how long to drive to the airport in LA and SF????
  22. Yes, but my snide comment was particularly aimed at 'Apple/Mac'...... who overprice the original product too.
  23. No, I wouldn't want to run the Virus or Malware infected module.....especially after my 'protection' isolated or moved it. But like any 'missing file'..... a clean copy can be put back surely. I mean I have done this with single files (.dll modules springs to mind) and no apparent issue other than restoration of functionality..
  24. He gave you an idea what the rents might be..... On a 2.5 million baht property 10% pa would be 20k/month. I would regard that as a very high rent for a little house on the darkside..... but it is achievable for a nice condo in town with a sea view. If your tenant will be there for the long term, yes good return If he moves on after 6 months, you lose.
  25. There is no need to go back 'home' to get a retirement visa, it is an extension of a Non-imm O , and can be achieved (easier I think) in LOS. Some people do arrive in LOS with an OA visa, a Thailand retirement visa obtained in their home country. A little onerous to get in some countries. Perhaps you have been talking to people who use these. Another type of visa would be a straight non-imm O multiple which can get you 15 months in LOS. I think it is easier just to keep the 800k in a bank account here, but you can get the retirement extension with proof of income. This income needs the certification and is the bit I can't be arsed with.
