  1. There are 2 apps called Bolt and Grab cover taxis..... Yes a scooter can be rented cheap, you should have a home licence backed up with an IDP for the chance of a police stop. Park it in a safe place and take the keys with you. Roads are dangerous here.
  2. Any Given Sunday
  3. Zsa Zsa Gabor.
  4. Countdown.
  5. Bill Murray.
  6. Central Pattaya Rd? Not Foodland maybe? I buy Edam and Gouda there, but limited choice otherwise. The selection in Big-CX is much better nowadays but far from cheap. They sell some rather puny pieces!
  7. I recall one hotel that had an isolated floor where tarts lived, and you could call a number and get one to come to your room. IIRC they were mostly from Eastern Europe back then. Again it is decades ago for me too.
  8. Well UK passport could enter no visa some years ago when I was in the area. I think I am out of date wrt the airport too, in the past I would have said definitely not the place to spend a long time, even in the Mahaber lounge! You got plenty of time to tour around, it is a small Island and not a lot to see... a shopping Mall and a souk market. If it is daytime it will be hot and humid. The mobility scooter might be an issue though. Sorry if of little help.
  9. Gary Oldman.
  10. Now you are into the realms of another prohibited beach activity, often in the news.
  11. I do recall over a decade ago we had a period when it was possible to get waved over by police on the airport approach road, my driver had already prepped me to say he was my brother in law! Doesn't Phuket airport already have a Bolt dedicated area?
  12. Not seen many examples of regs being enforced vigorously here.... if anything in the last few years policing has diminished, particularly on the roads.
  13. I bet they are!
  14. I believe both have validly from date of issue, the single entry for 3 months, the METV for 6 months. So a Single gives you 60 days with an option of +30 extension. (No better than Visa exempt). The METV, you can do a border bounce just before it expires, for a total of 6 months +60 days and an option to extend a further 30. A border run or trip(s) out sometime during the 6 months is also needed, since Permission of Stay is still 60 days per entry. Do not confuse visa validity with permission of stay, a common error. I know, clear as mud!
  15. Robert Downey Jr,
  16. I still keep getting promotional messages from them.
  17. Caddyshack.
  18. National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation.
  19. DO not use the internet to find the answer. If a day (24 hours) goes by without an answer, then it's fair game to use the internet to find an answer
  20. I have seen commentary by our friend Benjamin Hart at Integrity Legal that overlaps some of this, he is more optimistic. His recent comments is that banks are causing many issues, having requirements that have not been stipulated by immigration. The latest in the rumour mill, as an example, a particular bank stipulating that for an affidavit letter (per retirement extension requirements) it requires the 800k to have been on deposit for 4 months. Immigration do not require this. The above commentary about vloggers promoting Thailand is also an issue, I sometimes feel like saying Gabor style 'Shhh, you will spoil it for everyone' (me included). It is a nearly global issue/problem this immigration, I mean if the UK still attracts so many, a country I see now as a basket case, Thailand is definitely rosier.
  21. Yep, also starring Charlie Sheen.
  22. Mostly in Thai, but a lot of cameras and works well from the map. My Mrs just showed it to me. https://ioc.pattaya.go.th/live-cctv There is a bit of flooding to be seen at the time of posting.
