  1. I had a look in the phone shops on the 2nd floor in the avenue shopping centre today and the exact same speakers that the saleslady in Tukcom tried to con me into buying for 799 baht (with a final best price of 699 baht) had a price sticker of 359 baht and I am quite sure that you could bargain them down lower. In the grande scale of things it is not a whole lot of money but it shows how dishonest this saleslady was, I felt like buying 20 of those speakers in the avenue centre for about 300 each and selling them onto her for 400 each. In general the avenue centre seems cheaper for phones tha
  2. stop being pedantic Tom, it was a charger for a Nokia that the speaker need to recharge ....... perhaps I should have tipped the saleslady that tried to rip me off
  3. I spent most of this afternoon supporting one of Pattaya's beleaguered greedy bar owners rather than sipping my 7-11 Leo amongst the lovelies on beach road. I was a wee bit on the slightly fucked up side when it came to checkbin time. I was still sober enough to know what it was going to cost, the bill arrived and it was 580(included 2 ladydrinks). I gave the cashier 600 baht with the intention of her keeping the 20 baht, she came back with what looked like two 10 baht coins but only thing was one of them was a €2 coin, fuck it she tried to rip me off by what she thought was usless money bu
  4. I used to recommend TT exchange as the best place to change money but now I have found a better place for at least this weekend. TT is far better than the place across from Champagne that everyone raves about. The best place this weekend is the exchange that is halfway between Tops and the centera hotel on Pattaya klang. Rates today are. Euro = 41.90 GBP = 48.45 USD = 30.20 TT is offering 41.60 for the Euro so the extra 30 baht I get on 100 euro will buy me a meal in tukcom/tops/the market or a thai whiskey in nanaplaza and change to go to the toilet. I think I shall spend my ext
  5. The red shirts are back in force on their bikes on beach road. Pictures taken and uploaded on my phone using dodgy wifi on the beach road.
  6. Hi teelack, I think this may be what you are looking for Soi 2 inn It cost 1000 per night in Soi 2 inn and I could have stayed there again this time for 1000 per night, I see so many people pretending to know all and stating that it costs more. Hotel rates may be quoted higher but that is on the off chance than there is an idiot willing to pay the higher rate, just like the girls you bargain for a reasonable rate and most of the time you will agree on a fair price. I am not staying in Soi 2 this time because I don't want people knowing where I stay. Contrary to what I deem misleading repo
  7. I am out on walkabout now and the heavens have opened and here am I thinking that songkran signalled the start of rainey season. yesterday it rained nit noi but today it iss pissing down. Time for a massage I think
  8. Agodas prices are higher than walk in negotiated prices. Agoda quote what looks like a good price but when you try to book it the add "tax" which makes it expensive..
  9. Nice to see you promoting another upmarlet hotel.
  10. I am sure that they are amazing and the best of good luck to those that can afford the luxury. I paid €639 for my latest return flight and I had the whole middle section of 5 seats to myself, I lay down and slept relatively comfotably for about 6-7 hours, on the next section of the flight I had only 3 seats to myself next the window but it was still comfortable enough. Economy is not so bad now that there are more empty seats.
  11. I finally got to meet and chat to Pattaya's very own Superhero on my latest trip. I chatted to him when he arrived at the back of the baht bus that I was travelling in. At first he was reluctant to speak and he denied that it was him that was posting on the boards but after a couple of exchanges of good humoured banter he offered me some cheese from his moon. ... I declined his offer as I'm not into eating sloppy 2nds. He asked me what board I was one and I told him the old folk's home. He is a funny guy and he adds great colour to Pattaya.
  12. Once again I would like to state that Pattaya beer Garden is one of the best restaurants/bars in Pattaya. It is not as good as value as Sailor bar on Soi 8. Wine in sailor bar = 50 baht a glass large cocktail in sailor bar = 60 baht. Bottled beer in sailor bar = 50 baht or less at all times. But Pattaya beer garden is better than the sailor bar in many ways. Free WiFi. .... But not available at the tables on the periphery. Open air setting. .... Nobody can blow filthy cigarette smoke in your face. Soothing music at the right noise level in the background. Some lovely attentive m
  13. I found myself singing along to it. You can't stick it in the wrong hole without KY because it wont go in unless she practices safe sex through the backdoor.
  14. If you had offered European islands in the North Atlantic as an option then people from Great Britain, Iceland and Ireland could vote
  15. The only good thing that will come out of this awful situation that we find ourselves in is that the extremely corrupt fianna fail party(main government party) will be totally annihilated after the upcoming election. The greedy evil people that caused this crissis and cast such misery onto ordinary working people deserve to die a slow agonising death.
  16. BigD, You are a great guy and one has to admire your loyalty to Skytop guesthouse but I do believe that there are many superior options available in the 700 baht per night price range. I would say that Target Regency on soi bhuakow has better rooms available for 450 baht per night, their rooms include free WiFi, a balcony and an electronic safe.
  17. I have not stood in Skytops but judging by the pictures there are a lot of better places to stay for 500 baht or less
  18. The waterpark is great value at 100 baht each per day. The water slides are a lot of fun. Yes there are a lot of hot looking russian girls wearing skimpy thongs. A great place to spend 4 or 5 hours.
  19. Pattaya beer garden is not a place to go look for a young cutie. It is the best place to chill out in Pattaya. The food portions are large and reasonably priced, alcohol is reasonably priced. The food is exvellent by most standards. The view is fantastic. They have free WiFi. I normally get great service there and the waitresses remember what you like to drink. Nobody tries to rush you into eating quickly. I dont eat there now but if I were on my own I probably would. Overall a great place.
  20. 1000 per night is a negotiated rate with the manager for a longer stay. ... 1400 is the walk in rate. Negotiate, negotiate, negotiate. Safes in room are excellent.
  21. Buddha sent out the sun at 2.30pm but it does rain in december
  22. I stated after my last trip that it was my best ever but this trip tops it. I love the place and it seems better than ever now.
  23. I am on the beach and it is constant rain Sorry about the large photo file size but this is a live update on the move on my smartphone. I dont like guys suggesting that it is not raining when it clearly is.
  24. I thought the whole idea of Loy Krathong was it signalled the end of rainy season. I left my baby in the room so I could go and take sun but it is pissing out of the heavens with no sign of a let up. I feel sorry for the girls on the beach because not too many guys are going to bother getting soaked looking for pussy. It's not heavy rain just constant.
