advertised rates are for Lame DupeOverPayers ... show up and ask them for their 500 baht rooms ... make sure you get a nice one . 600 baht is for people staying one night ,,, if you are staying a week or more they will gladly accept 500 baht.

Reception is manned/womanned 24 hours at D apartments ... got my ket at 4-5am many times ...you can bring 3+ women there at anytime .....it is not shiny new but it does represent good value ...miles ahead of may of the spammed guesthouses that cost twice as much.

For a little over half the price of secrets you could stay at D apartments on Soi buakow at the top of new plaza....on the bus route and very close to soi7/soi8 The older(very clean tile floor) rooms cost about 500 baht ...for that you get a huge room,fast free WiFi...,a swimming pool on the roof, a big comfortable bed ,an electronic safe,two free bottles of water ....and you dont get intimidated to drink in a bar with overpriced coyotes. The older rooms dont have a balconey but do have a large window Target bar on soi buakhow has nice clean big rooms for 450 baht ....prices correct as of march 2011

In my humble opinion the rooms at Royaltwins looked old and wornout 10 years ago... The new rooms at Chaba could be got for 800-1000 up until a year ago, lovely pool and on the bus route. Why stay with any place that jacks up prices. I usually stayed at a different hotel on every visit and it always felt like I was on holiday in a new place. Best deals are always walk ins because they know once you walkout that they have lost the business ... never accept their opening offer and always negotiate.

It is not rocket science how to get decent rooms at a discount rate. During your trip you keep your eyes open for a new hotel opening. You go in and tell the people when you will be back on your next trip. If you like the place tell them you like it but it is a bit too expensive and ask them if they can give you a discount for a longer stay ... always look disappointed with their discount and say that you would love to stay but it is too expensive ... they usually make you a good offer. Lets say the rack rate is 1400 baht and they finally offer you 1100 you then say I can only pay 1000 ... most places will agree but you most likely will lose out on the free breakfast before 11.00am ... who gets up for breakfast. Make sure you have 5 or 6 options. Hotel rooms never look as good as the pictures on the website ....the hotel room brokers wont get you a cheaper rate unless you are a shit negotiator . I bargain for almost everything in Thailand ... Thais are shocked at people that pay their original asking price. Too many empty rooms to be paying the asking price.

Sorry I could not make to Pattaya as I was having a party in my room. The room needed to be cleaned... i had two lovely ladies working to clean things up since 6.00pm ... they got finished at 2.00am..... the provided a fantastic service. Oral Sex May Cause Virus-Linked Cancer: Study More males may get throat cancer from having oral sex with women than from smoking as the result of a virus linked to the malignancy, a study suggests. Researchers examined 271 throat-tumor samples collected over 20 years ending in 2004 and found that the percentage of oral cancer linked to the human papillomavirus, or HPV, surged to 72 percent from about 16 percent, according to a report in the Journal of Clinical Oncology. By 2020, the virus-linked throat tumors -- which mostly affected men -- will become more common than HPV-caused cervical cancer, the report found. HPV is known for infecting genitals. The finding that it can spread to the throat and cause cancer may increase pressure on Merck & Co., the second-largest U.S. drugmaker, to conduct large-scale trials to see if its vaccine Gardasil, which wards off cervical cancer in women, also prevents HPV throat infections, said Maura Gillison, an oncologist at Ohio State University and study senior author. “The burden of cancer caused by HPV is going to shift from women to men in this decade,” Gillison said in a telephone interview. “What we believe is happening is that the number of sexual partners and exposure to HPV has risen over that same time period.” Gillison said she worked with researchers at Whitehouse Station, New Jersey-based Merck several years ago to design a study in men. After Merck acquired Schering-Plough Corp. in 2009, though, the trial “was canceled,” she said. No Further Study Pamela Eisele, a spokeswoman for Merck, said the company decided not to move ahead with a big oral cancer study “due to competing research and business priorities.” GlaxoSmithKline Plc (GSK) has “no plans” to study the company’s competing vaccine Cervarix outside of cervical cancer, Jennifer Armstrong, a company spokeswoman, said in an e-mail. Open-Mouth Kissing In a 2007 epidemiology study published in the New England Journal of Medicine, Gillison and her colleagues found that having a high number of oral or vaginal sex partners are risk factors for HPV-associated throat cancer. The cancer may also be spread by open-mouth kissing, Gillison said in the interview. “Nobody paid attention to oral HPV infections until 2007,” she said. “We are about 15 years behind in the research” compared with the data on cervical cancer and HPV, she said. An editorial accompanying the study concluded that trials to see whether vaccines prevent oral cancer “are needed, given that prevention through vaccination will almost certainly be the ultimate solution” to HPV-positive oral cancers. A key step would be to perform a natural history study that would follow people over a number of years and track in more detail how HPV-oral infections lead to cancer. This could help inform how to design a vaccine trial, Gillison said. Both vaccines target the HPV strain linked to oral cancer, Gillison said.
