Malaysian Air Flight 370 is missing (Boeing 777-200)
midlifecrisis replied to short's topic in Airline Discussion
This is so strange. If the purpose was to crash the aircraft and kill all aboard, then there would be no need to disable all communication and the transponders. A terrorist group would want the plane to be found for the publicity. Evil, you left out one other possibility... the plane's computer was named Hal. -

Exactly js007, this has become almost surreal. We have every nation in the world with satellites looking for and not finding debris anywhere. We also have reports that military radar picked up the flight heading west into the Indian Ocean at altitudes much lower than normal, communication and telemetry devices turned off and apparently intentionally...what other odd things play into this scenario? -

OK, so a few days ago there was a report about passenger cell phones still working. The today I read that pircay may have occurred and the plane diverted to an island runway somewhere. And these were not crank reports. This is about as strange as it gets. -
I thought I knew every Tyrone Power movie but the title threw me. Fatboyfat does give us the original title of the movie but to be fair it is better known to many, if not most, as Abandon Ship When I saw that I knew but I peeked so I cannot give more info. I hope this much was ok.

I follow Googles DJ index daily and Motley Fool had a report on the page that discussed how Boeing's stock is a contributor to the recent downturn (there are other reasons of course but that is for another forum). What makes me post the article here is that it mentions cracks in the 777 fuselage and the wings of the Dreamliner. It seems less likely now that it was a catastrophic failure but it does make you wonder about the air worthiness of their aircraft. http://www.fool.com/investing/general/2014/03/12/boeings-decline-drags-on-the-dow-jones-industrial.aspx -

A few days ago I saw a report that cell phones of passengers were still on. The Iranians also blamed the USA of abducting the airplane. It is a strange one. This is like something out of a James Bond movie. -

about 30 days but the range is limited. On land or shallow water it is easier to find. Black boxes are designed to withstand over 3000 times gravity. -

according to Reuters, if the aircraft hit the water they would expect to see a lot of concentrated debris. They are starting to think it may have disintegrated at 35,000 feet. http://www.reuters.com/article/2014/03/09/us-exclusive-probe-plane-idUSBREA280FF20140309 -

After the fact the USA released that info here in the states and fairly soon after. The airline and or airport security had access to that information but it slipped through. That said, it does not mean terrorism. The two people involved were checked through to two European destinations. Human traffickers often use stolen passports. This early morning on CNN it appears that the airplane was over lad and made a turn toward the sea as if trying to turn the plane around. It appears to have gone down in the sea. Much too early to speculate. -

UPDATE- Sizzler at Central Festival Mall
midlifecrisis replied to Evil Penevil's topic in Restaurants and food
Sizzler is a third rate steakhouse at best in the USA. If you want a decent American meal in Pattaya, it is not bad and no worse than in the States. I ate there once and it was not dissimilar to what I would find here in California, with the exception of the local fare. -
Barry Fitzgerald loved that little man. we don't have character actors like him in our modern era!!!

Just an aside for a bit of trivia. Laurence's credit was as Larry Fishburne if memory serves.

Cheaper is an understatement. $1200 for ER and two nights in a private room (no joiner fee for teelak, hehe), nursing care, I.V. meds and meds to go.......our health care system in America was f'ed up before Obamacare and not any better since. I am fairly conservative but still think we need a single payer system.
