My main reasons for EVA is that they fly from SFO (Thai Air does not) and they arrive at 11:30 AM or so at BKK and not the middle of the night. The food is not good but I do not fly for the food. I just read yesterday that EVA is making all their business class seats as lie flat seats, instead of angled. It is part of their joining Star Alliance. The business class menu is a definite step up from economy and they have decent wines. I am saving to fly business class for my next trip. I am getting too old for the discomfort of 12 to 15 hours in economy or even premium economy. The lie flat seats will be great! I flew EVA's angled seats and it was like camping and pitching your tent on a downgrade.
