A while back, Hounslow council organized a mixed faith day. It may well be an annual event now. Reading the report in the local press about how it went, one thing stood out. The non participation of the local Muslims. There were Hindu- Sikh- Buddhist- Christian and Jewish participants. They all visited each others places of worship, ending up in a church for tea and sandwiches. It was a Saturday, perhaps the Muslims didn't like to visit the Jewish Synagogue ? Perhaps they didn't want other faiths desicrating their bit of Islam ? Or maybe they didn't get an invite ? It was significant that on T.V's C4 "High rise house of Commons" an M.P. was talking to a Iman at a Mosque, who told her that anyone was welcome to come inside and see what goes on there. She organized a Barbie' for the Muslim and other local residents. It was significant that she was taken by the women from the Mosque to special shop to buy traditional Somalian Muslim clothes for her to wear on the occasion. No Muslim women wore western dress as a good will gesture. Once again it is us accepting their ways in an effort to appease. Look, we will do what you ask us to do - please like us ! Say what you will, they are a funny old lot

Hmm... Looks like I would need the old platform boots- or those high heeled Cubans ! -
I basically agree with the above.

Good trip ingo ? glads you were all properly dressed for it. Those bikes look ideal. Are they suitable for shorties like me ? -
The IRA were politically and militarily motivated. They only blew themselves up by accident. How can you be geared up against a fanatic, that could come from any of several countries ? Pakistan, Nigeria, Somalia, Bangladesh, Kosovo....... As Joe pointed out on another thread. While you are looking out for that dopey soft lad, who could be radicalized to become a bomber, the smartly dressed educated Muslim woman decides today is the time to die, along with any poor bugger around her. I interpret that statemant as- " Not all Muslims are terrorists, but all are potential ones " Change that twenty years ago, in my last post, to 10 years, things are moving faster than that. Your IF gets smaller every year old son. That is what worries me. Once the balloon goes up on such a scenario, how many decades before it goes away ? Probably never. Look at how the Welsh, Scot's Irish still hate the English for what happened centuries ago. Europe is becoming more right wing as a result. Holland had a big vote for the anti Muslim Party and 30% of Austrians voted for right wing parties, because of the high Turkish immigrant numbers. Here in the U.K the BNP have never had so many elected members, in all levels of politics. You can put this all down to Nationalism, Xenophobia and such. I put it down to mans natural instinct to protect his territory and his own from outsiders, in the way all other creature, from Ants to Zebra, instinctively do. Man made laws may force you to tolerate other ethnic groups, but the Law of Nature is a more powerful force to recon with. Laws can make a person act a different way, but not think a different way. For decades western Governments have gone for the cheap immigrant labour option, with little regard to any social problems that it may cause. These began right from the start. They chose to ignore racial tensions in the 60- 70's, thinking that a swathe of regulation, will keep it under control. Perhaps they thought all immigrants will intergarate into the British way of life, leaving behind all of their cultural, religious and language differences. In twenty years time you wouldn't know they were from another country- yeah right. As you say, they are here now, nothing can be done to undo the past. It is the future that worries me. Never mind an army in Afghanistan to bring about a peaceful society, we may need them here.

If I had to illustrate reasons for my concern about the growing amount of Muslims in this country. I would play Devils Advocate and suggest two hyperthetical situations, that would not have been even crossed my mind twenty years ago, but perhaps are in the realms of possiblity now. First one is of the Queen, this June at Royal Ascot, traveling down the course in her open Landau. A Muslim extremist runs from the crowd and gets close enough to explode a bomb, killing him,a couple of horses and body guards, all live on T.V. The queen dies from a heart attack. Second one, is same scenario, but a Muslim woman dressed in the full gear runs toward the queen, meaning to wish her well with some flowers- (unlikely I know ) A bodyguard shoots her dead before she gets to the Queens carriage. Again, live on National T.V Twenty years ago, these thoughts wouldn't even have entered my head. Twenty years ago, I hadn't had a son traveling on the London underground system the day it was attacked by Muslim suicide bombers. He didn't answer his phone for twenty minutes. That gut feeling of fearing the worst, still lives with me today. Can you imagine the social unrest, following such suggested incidents ? Yeh, you can scoff and say they are unlikely, but you would have said that about suicide attacks before 7th July 2005. Makes me shudder to think about it.

On reflection Tom, the best thing to come from my German classes was a certain young Asian lady. She was a lovely distraction. No wonder my grammar and spelling is crap. So was my Swedish, to an ex Kibbutz lady freind on Facebook, but she still got the message= " Keep your knickers up ! "
-
I haven't used German for 30 years. But I am sure that is how Os' or Bomber, would have put it. I'ts gotta be better than " Ve haff vays to make you talk ! " or " Vor you Tommie zee vor is ofer ! "

You remember the girls school in Brent my daughter worked in ? The pupils were over 95% black. It was the only school she ever worked in, that had a creche for the pupils babies. Every country has it's own problem youngsters. We are no different. The last thing we need is other countries problem youngsters here. I watched one of those "Secret Millionaire" programs where a West Indian volunteer driver, confessed he couldn't get a paid job, because he had 12 children by several different women and the CSA would take all his wages. I wouldn't mention such things, but I feel a need to balance your version of how things are in England. You sure you live here ??
-
You forgot the young Englishmen dieing for their country in Afghanistan. No rush to put them out of a job by immigrant labour is there ? If Adolf was at CaLais now. Pastry would have written on the white cliffs of Dover; Welkomen Adolf. Grosse Britaign is fur uns alles. Wie canst alles suzzamen blieben. ( roughly translated Welcome Adolf Great Britain is for everyone. We can all live together. xxx.
-
No, but you still think like one.
-
I assume they wont put you out of a job though ? Is that because you are willing to work for a small reward. Or they just don't do the same job as you ? Not too many Self Employed Bollocks-ollogists- Sorry, Freelance Consultants, from the Eastern Europeans to worry about. Why should they work for small reward ? I suppose you would have had the Jarrow Marchers and Tollpudlle Martyrs shot ? A decent wage for a days work whatever next ? Sick and holiday pay ? Minimun wages and working conditions ? You never cease to amaze me with your arrogance. What else can you expect from a Suit ?

And had Mr Wilders party specialized in economic issues, I would have posted on Wacies 'Bust' thread. But they don't. They got the support on Islamic issues. ( Unless he is an expert economist too ) That is why I posted the outcome on this one. Our next election will be most interesting. I have a choice of voting for Alan Keen "Mr Expenses" who, with his wife claimed £125,000 for a Mayfair flat second home, when their main home was 10 miles from Westminister. Or the local Conservative lad who works at Heathrow, but still represents blokes with moats around their home, or a bell tower. I may just not bother at all. The polling station is a few hundred yard from my house, so it may be worth the effort, just to write BOLLOCKS with a marker pen on the paper.

The usually laid back, tolerant, Dutch voters, in a recent election, have given the anti Islamist party leader Geert Wilders a large amount of votes for his Freedom Party (PVV). Polls suggest that they may get the largest amount of seat - 27 from 150, in the coming Election. The Dutch voters are the first to do, what main stream politicians hate them to do- vote for a party that says it will do what they want. This could become a trend throughout the rest of Europe. Ya never know !

From my experience of handling baggage ex E.K. 30k would be carry on stuff. As most of it had a trans Atlantic connection, that was 2x 30kg bags for each passenger, and they always had a kilo or two over the top. The bags began their journey in India or Pakistan, so a few Rupees may have changed hands at check in to show them at 30k.

Wells brewery had a poster advertising a new ale. Not sure what market it was aiming at but the slogan was; England has history- Australia has previous.

England may be a cesspit that is responsible for breeding fundamental terrorists, but is not the majority of the English who are responsible. It is done under the cover of a P.C. dominated Government and society. Helped by a liberal middle class that runs everything here; Teachers, Doctors, the banking system and of course, Parliament, (not forgetting Freelance Consultants ). Believe me, if I had my way, it would never have happened. My opinions, along with millions of others, may be primitive and hewn from ignorance, but could they be any more wrong than those our educated, brainy subjects who are running the show now ? That copper on another thread jailed for corruption, was brought to the Met police's attention 2 years ago as being a ' wrong' un', but the fear of yet another case of Racial discrimination, stopped them from taking a closer look at him. That suicide bomber from Hounslow, has probably never even heard of the violent period of Great British history. It is your " You don't know who is going to blow you up. that makes life so shit living in any big city. Now and forever. What a legacy for future generation ! " So Granddad, you were a young man when all this started, why didn't you say something ? " " Well love, if you did say something, people would call you names ! " Sounds pathetic doesn't it ? And yes the Glasgow bombers were Doctors. That must have shocked a few of the Middle class, English Liberals. As I said to the seven Somalian lads who were trying to wind me up in the way that Pakistani was winding up that old lady on another post. " This is my country- for you, it's just somewhere to live ! " It all adds the vibrant colourful multicultural life we now live. You may as well go to London Zoo and open all the cages, just to see what will happen. That is what the Great multicultural Experiment has done.

As I have said before, one of those Suicide Bombers came from Hounslow. He worked in Duty Free Term 3. As you can imagine, he got a fair amount of coverage in the local press. He was described by those who knew him, a big soft lad, who wasn't the brightest light on the tree. Not unlike that British Shoe Bomber on an America bound plane. Both used by the manipulative extremists to carry out their hate campaign. It would appear Britain is well sorted in the idiot department of Islamic militants. We don't need any more from other countries. The ones that blew up trains and a bus in London came from here too. None of whom, were in my eyes British. I don't care what it said on the front of their passport.

Darn, why didn't I have you there to help me out ? I pity the lad having to learn to spell it as a nipper.

Why am I not surprised that JK and Mr Pastry were first to respond to this post ? Remember the Muslim demonstrations in the UK about the cartoons in a Danish newspaper ? These Muslims were so outraged about their religious leader being shown as a terrorist, they marched on the streets with quaint little slogans such as " Kill the Infidel ! "- " Europe- your 9/11 is coming ! "- " Behead those who insult Allah ! "and a few other charming suggestions. The police did not arrest anyone at the time, it was not a head splitting type of Demo'. Lets face it, if they want to kill you over a few drawings, what would they do if you clobbered them with a steel baton ? Anyhoo, one of the demonstrators, was dressed as a suicide bomber, a black body vest with pockets all around. The police filmed him along with the others and lo and behold, when they studied the film later, this devout, enraged Muslim, was out on bail for selling Heroine and Cocaine. Smart move, dressing like that when on bail- or did he think that he was bombproof ? I think this type of incedent, is what the OP is talking about.

I dunno, I was at the game Saturday. There was an item about him on' Late Kickoff' last Monday. Did you mean that ?

Looks like Stamford Bridge is not such a pushover as Mr's.

Sky Sports were outside Griffin Park yesterday, asking Brentford fans their view of this young goalie. I was one of them. At the end of the interview, the guy held up a notepad with the goalie's name on and each interviewee had to pronounce it, as best we could. Should be a good game at The Bridge today. At least no one is running away with things at the top.

Hi, His name is Wojciech Szczesny. The Late Kickoff TV programme ran an article about him Monday night. ( I wondered what the Cameras were doing a at Ealing Road End last home game. ) The rest of the team call him Chez. I will try and get him to autograph my club flag next week for my birthday.

I just hope the Arsenal Goalie, gets his act together, or Brentford will lose our on loan Polish lad. We have taken to him and he seems to enjoy playing for us. Only 19. with a great future at Arsenal and for Poland- Another Tomelchevski ! I was at Wembley that night, surrounded by Polish supporters. It was 'Orrible.
