Organic Garlic, is often browner, has different sized cloves and doesn't keep as well as the other stuff. I have tried to convince Si that when Herbet my dog takes a dump near her chillies in the garden, that it makes them organically fed, she isn't convinced.

You know what ? Going back 35 years, don't really give your argument a lot of clout.

Out of curiosity, do all the countries that are members of the U.S based World Bank, have their currency linked to the $US ? If not, what is the World Bank's purpose ?

Well, they are at ground zero now. Perhaps, the Leeds machine is firing on all cylinders .

The Spitfire, now that was leading edge, as was the ME109. P'raps we need a war to hurry things along a bit ? -
My GF was aproached by the teacher at the local school, to come in a hour a day to help the kids with their English. The teacher was willing to get a wage for her to do this. The Education Department, wouldn't pay her as she was unqualified. Shame, she could have helped the kids and got a few baht for it. So they got no one.

Hemp must be a good versatile crop. It has so many uses, from clothing to car parts. The problem being it would need to be grown on a large scale to be profitable. Then there has to be a distribution service to factories. I don't know how they would license and monitor it in LOS, it is very carefully policed here in the U.K- for obvious reasons. The main argument in it's favour, is that for paper making etc, you can get several crops grown in the time it takes to grow a tree, for the same use.

Yep, by the time they pay someone to turn the flooded paddy field over , with the tak tak, then drain, thin out the plants, pay someone to run the Combined Harvester over the finished crop, it don't leave a lot of profit. Like you I 'ain't relying on it for a living, but it will help out the GF's family. They are doing the work while she is here, but when she goes back it will be her job to decide the future use of the land. She has an idea about having a small bar with pool and stuff- dunno, its just an idea, whatever, she will have to finance it herself- the land was her lot from

Or it could have been the fumes from Perry Oaks sewage works, when the wind was from the S.E. -
Try adjusting the feed from a high N content to a high K when fruits form. have just re- read that the green plant dies back- hmmm. It must be the Tom's need a few hours of coolness, to keep them doing what they do to stay healthy- no answer to that, apart from moving a few hundred miles north. Well if you do go buying Hydro' gear, the BIB might be popping in to see how you are getting on. Our rice didn't all wash away, the little blighters hung in there and are a few inches high- exiting isn't it ?

The troublw with insurance is, they issue a blanket, one size fits all policy. That way, we all pay a lot. I would be too old to take out this one because I am 60. However, I am a non smoker, clean bill of health, with no past illnesses, surely someone with my track record should get a lower premium ? If I could have a medical, like the recent one at our local school, that showed low blood preasure, good colesteral levels, and a fair body fat ratio, it must reduce the risk of a claim ? A selling point of many Companies , is the 'no medical required' offers, as if they are wil

Airbus and Boeing products running behind schedule

Each time I have been on a taxying aircraft at LHR when Concorde was about to take off, the pilot made an announcemant on the P.A for passengers to look out of the window to watch. On BA flights to New York taxying at the same time as it took off, the pilot would announce 3 1/2 hours out- " The Concorde you saw taking off at Heathrow, has just landed in New York " They, were half way there. To watch that 'plane getting airbourne at dusk, banking to the right, with the pure white exhausts glowing, would send a shiver down my spine. It was like my love life, noisy- but quick. -

Yep, the money spent on Concorde, makes the Moon Mission seem an absolute bargain. -

Ask yourself, will either of these aircraft get me to LOS quicker- cheaper- more comfortably ? If they can tick all three boxes, I might get a bit more exited about them. -

I have lived next to Heathrow all my life. I have seen 'em come and seen 'em go. Stratacruisers, 707-727- 737-747-757-767-777. D.C. 7-8-9-10. Vickers Vangaurd- Viscount - VC 10. Bristol Britania. Lockhead Super Connie', Tristar......... They are just another 'plane, never to be as beautiful or as fast as the Concorde- get over it ! Blimey, you will be arguing about mobile phones next. -
Did you ever get those big tomatoes to grow ? My GF desperately wants to find a way of growing apples in LOS. All that fruit and she still wants apples !
-
I have bought 8 rai of land for the GF to make some money from too. Her sister sowed the first rice crop 2 days ago, only for heavy rain to wash it all down the drainage ditches. Si told her to watch the T.V for the bloody weather forcast next time- 2500bht wasted. I was looking foreward to being a farmer too ! Now Gary what is the best return on crop you have had ? Mangoes- Lemons- Gunja ?
-
No one would ever know. Looks normal to me
-
Well Gary, with my oppinion and your advice, perhaps between us, we have given someone food for thought. It doesn't hurt to accentuate the negative on the odd occasion.

It may be a dream for many, bit it can sooooo easily become a nightmare too. Pattaya has more jumpers than M&S When I read posts by BM's itching to retire to LOS, I can't help thinking that some are living not 'the dream', but in 'a dream'. If you are not happy in your'e home environment, with freinds, family and workmates etc. How do you expect to be happy the other side of the world, in a foreign country with an unstable Government, anti -Ferang attitude that stops you buying land, plus visa conditions that change with the weather ? Pussey isn't everything. It is just so
