Here is a list of 10% Plus returns for all of you Blokes
nidnoyham replied to mrstein's topic in Expat Issues
Regent Inns- that's the one. I celebrated Brentford's win with a bottle of Fullers Golden Pride (8.6%) followed by a wee Grouse or two. My thinking was a bit fuzzy. I am not holding these, I bought at 22p down from about 80p. this is the lowest sp for 3 1/2 years. I thought, sod it' buy a few quids worth- "He who dares Rodney....." When I was a butcher, we had a saying. " Never stop a dying wife, never catch a falling knife ! " Strange thing, on the 6th/7th of the month, millions of shares were bought by two investment companies. Another share I hold ASP.L -Ascribe, -

I'm a mug punter. My latest " bottom fishing" bet is REG.L ( Regency Hotels ) they are well down for some reason. Last week there was some large buys of the shares, which are at their lowest price for years. Looks a good bet to me, but what do I know ? -
Isn't Aberdeen's ground, literally on the beach ? You must get some spray on a stormy nigh at one end. Well done! Most English sides who win in Europe, have several players that will be playing in the 2008 Cup . Or the Africa Nations Cup in January.

Blimey, no more Black Magic sites for me then. My son handles all that sort of thing, as I type this an auto- scan is running to detect bad stuff. I think.

I have given this some thought. A five- a- side football (soccer ) game would be great. USA V GB. What you think ? 10 min's each way ? There must be a venue like the school or somewhere ? Tom you're in goal, I will be sweeper, Cennn as striker and anyone else daft enough to play. Alan can be an unbiased Ref'. BigD will have to pick his team from the huge US majority available. -

No, not that one. We are only in London by default really- Feltham, home of the infamous 'Borstal' and general dumping ground for undesirables from the city. Was a small Market Garden town before the 60's- down hill ever since. From cabbages to Cocaine in 40 years. -

Darn, I must be lucky at picking my pubs. I live in a pretty darn rough town in West London, and the last person I can remember trying to pick a fight, was an Eastern European, who spat at the staff. who had refused to serve him any more drink. It could be my massive 5'2" 60 year old frame that deters the locals. Believe none of what you hear and only half of what you see. -
If you look at the " 2questions" post, (members section ) there is a sat' pic' of soi 13. Look at the top of the pic' and there are two pools. The top one, is the pool of The Nautical Inn. 1200 a night, including break'y. Baht taxi route front and back. Turn right on Beach Road, at front, a short walk to Soi 7/8 etc. Taxi to Walking street at gate. End of January is a bit busy, you can fax them (038) 428116 for info. Pool has a bar/ food service. I like it there.

Thanks Cennn, I can remember him saying Omdurman now. I also get mixed up with Khartoum and cartoon.

Anyone else see the protesters in Sudan waiving those large blades about ? I think the protest was against the treatment from Corporal Jones at Mafekin. He was right- " Them Fuzzy Wuzies. The old cold steel-They don't like it up 'em !"

Airbus and Boeing products running behind schedule

I have a feeling that future aircraft sales will not be in the lowly $US, but the Euro or perhaps the Thai Baht. -
The great advantage of moving along at !00 KPH, is it makes it difficult to do the third best thing - shopping !

for you that have never been to pattaya

Good luck son. May Mother Nature smile kindly on you and help pull you through in a gentle and painless way. I will have you in my thoughts. Thanks for the reminder of our mortality. Like most gifts, it is too often taken for granted. -
Herbert is a S.B.T X Whipet. He has the Staff's brindle colour and short hair. On sunny days, he seeks the shade when he is active enough to get hot. There is a Herbert shaped dent, in the grass under every tree where we walk. A ten minute runabout has him gasping. On cold days he hugs the fire, 'till he almost cooks. I don't think he could handle Thailand's heat.

Well, I do speak as a bloke that the word ' lap top' first conjuers up a vision of some Bird with no clothes on and a pole- rather than a computer.

O.K you have to do some work on holiday. But on the beach ? Why not later in your room, or at an internet cafe ? - posers. Look at me! I am so important that I have to be working. A guy I worked with used to take his laptop on flights to Canada. He had no work to do, but it made him feel good to tap away at a keyboard. He only got found out because one of his workmates was on the same flight across the aisle. - poser.
-
So, no computer no holiday ? What sort of holiday is it that you can't relax and forget work ? Might as well have stayed at home and read the paper - posers !!
-
Great ! What was the question ?
-
Am I the only one that thinks people tapping away on their laptop on a beach, in a cafe, at the airport, are just posers ? If something is so urgent, why did you go on holiday ? Why not finish everything before you go away ? To me, it's akin to talking loud on a mobile phone on the train. Of course if you have a bid for a leather thong for 50p on E-Bay to keep an eye on - go ahead. But I am just an old fart, who is easily irritated.

Joe, you are little treasure- sunken chest an' all. I have been to Samut Prakan, to a shrimp farm. spent a hour or two in two foot of waters feeling in the mud for those clam things. Not realising that the holes in the side of the pond were home to huge crabs. That way takes you over the huge modern looking bridge, or would that be to further north ? We will be in Pickup, so may take a bit longer. Thanks agian. NNH
-
Joe 4 hours dues seem a bit quicker than I would have thought. It is an hour to Pattaya from Rayong, then 2 more to Bangkok. I am in Rayong in Feb' and would like a side trip to Hua Hin. I'll study the map around south Bangkok for your directions. If you're right this may be a regular trip. Including food stall stops or the " Look-market today !" ones.

I just wonder if the Boeing will get off the ground, before this site runs out of space to talk about it. -
We talk about differing cultures, but food is one of the defining differences. I know, while working at an airport in the transit baggage area, I have seen curry, dried Bat, fish that made us heave from Vietnam, giant snails....... all going to the States and Canada. There is nothing like your'e own grub- except Ale that is.
