  1. I use West East travel 08702201001 in London.
  2. I have not cleared immigration at Glasgow, but last year at LHR my Thai GF was at immigration desk about 15 seconds before getting her passport stamped, that was evening flight T3 EVA in June. If I was connecting through I would be happier with a early morning arrival. Then I would avoid Immigration at LHR. All the US flight are arriving, (Customs call it the wagon train ) and it gets very busy. I assume you will be travelling together, so price of ticket does matter when you are doubling up. If my GF comes over this year I think I will meet her at LHR, save 500 Quid.
  3. I believe having casinos in Thailand, will be like giving a baby a loaded gun to play with. In my limited contact with Thais, it has become obvious to me that gambling is their big weakness. My GF familly once owned rice fields and more land by Tamphanin, but her old dad lost it all playing cards and cockfighting, now they just have the land around their house. Banks in Thailand love lending money with land as security. The Mamasan of her old bar lost so much money last year, her husband had to sell bar. I have watched a BG lose her money/ gold jewelry so quickly it could only be discri
  4. GUS- BR067 usually pretty much to sched arrival,I came back 04Dec 35mins early. Remember they only have 2.1/2hrs to turn around if on sched. Delays cost tons of dough, if you miss your airbourne slot you go to back of queue. I worked for Air Canada and don't remember EVA being regularly late.
  5. I would get your visa first, 'cos any lower priced tickets are non-refundable. once they have her name on. they are non transferable too. I use the Travel Agent just past Honey Lodge from Walking Street, tried 4 or 5 places this year & they were the cheapest BKK/LHR/BKK. It may be cheaper to buy each leg individually, it's a hastle claiming bags at LHR yourself, but having worked there for 26 years I would rather do that anyway, I think you will have less hastle from customs etc than at Glasgow. Good Luck, I am doing same for 2nd time next year
  6. Bub, hope you hear from your lady soon. Of course not "all" Thai ladies are the same son, but it is a good policy to assume they are from the start- time will tell with each individual. You, as a regular sounding good guy, need to be just a bit more cynical than you feel comfortable with. I don't doubt there is a Miss right for you somewhere in LOS, but is is no different from commiting yourself to any woman for the rest of your life. Most of the LOS regulars, me included, have been through the mill of life- broken marriages, bad divorces etc, and may seem cynical, where women are conc
  7. Bub- mate ! If you are looking for a life companion, no doubt LOS is a fair place to start. The advise you get from the posts here, you may consider oppinionated, but don't ignore it. I have had same lady in LOS, for over 2 years, she visited England ths summer, loved the cathederals/ castles & London etc, but on first day here in June was wearing my winter clothes. Trying to find a meal for her when touring the countryside, was like finding spare parts for a obscure foreign car everyday- rice with everything ! Despite speaking good English and getting on with my family & frie
  8. A Norton- Snowbird you old nostalgic ! They are building Nortons in India to the old 60s spec, we can buy them in U.K. Its the one with the silver hump-back tank with Norton written in black, saw one near me outside m/cycle shop. I would be torn between that and the new Triumph Bonneville, about 5 models to chose from. I suppose I am an old nostalgic too, memories of being chased by Mods on scooters- like a pack of angry 2 stroke bees after you. Happy days !
  9. Yes there is an office on the most northenly part of beach road just before the roundabout. Be prepared for a wait, they get really busy, think they open about 10am
  10. Snowbird... Yes it's a bike, on sale in March next year £13-14000 price tag, it is only a few inches longer than their roadster. I thought the GOld Wing 1800 was O.T.T. If you drop this bugger, how will you pick it up? I'm 5ft 4in, but I think it has a low saddle height, even so I know my limits. Be handy for towing a trailer home though !
  11. Just off to the Devon coast today, spending christmas there, so offline for a day or so. So may you all have a great time tommorow, wherever you are. The temperature in FLB will give all you Franags a feel of Christmas no doubt ! Just to prove I am not a wimp about cold, I and my son will be going for a SWIM IN THE SEA Christmas day at Exmouh, it is an annual event for hundreds of people- see we English arn't just tough, were stupid too ! See you 01 FEB if I survive, hope my dick has recovered by then !
  12. Wizard you'll hate it. It was probably nice when you went, but now its all warm weather, cheap digs, cold beer and women wanting to F you. Be prepared for the worst !
  13. Mossies are as active as Thai ladies, you can get stung 24 hours a day, but in my experience, the ladies may not like the smell, and prefer aftershave in the evenings.
  14. So Snowbird, you wouldn't recomend the new 2.5 ltr Triumph roadster- 0-60 in 2.5 sec, 0- 100 in 6 sec ? If Monkeyman is right about being able to run down a car with a real bike- this one would cut it in 2 ! It is for the U.S market, they have the roads for it, but your right about the idiots on Fireblades, but steady on son- throwing beer is a bit drastic, a bottle of water will be fine.
  15. I have found that Evergreen delux is more oversold than economy out of LHR, a mate of mine travelled BKK/LHR 22 Nov and had a row to himself in Y, but E/green oversold by 2. You could try turning up late, but you run the risk of getting a crap Y seat for your effort- good luck
  16. Just talking to a Brazilian lady friend, and she reckons take Vitamin B for a week before you go to bite area, apparently you give off a smell that stops the mossies wanting to bite. My stuff smells of lemonbalm, (Mosiegaurd) my Thai GF hates the smell, works on her! I find the roll-on one better- spray seems to waste more than you use. I read that any repelent just disguises your body aroma, and the little beggers dont know your there, a bit like Arnie covering himself in mud in Predator.
  17. Luckily in U.K no 'roos, just white van man, taxi man & snooty women in fckg great 4W.D looking down at you. The good thing is when you give them a good hand gesture, it sort of fits in with the immage of bikers, so does not offend- now a kick in the door - thats different
  18. Sammy, The Terrier dog bit was just one of my old Dads sayings , (God rest his soul) He seemed to have one for every situation. Recon he could have had them published!
  19. Thanks for the history lesson on Hockey Sammy. I am surprised that the game was invented so far south in your wine growing area, lattitude wise its about on par with northen Spain. I got my info from a kids T.V programme about hockey. Growler is right Hurling is an Irish game, a bit like Lacross. Played with a Hurley eh ? Not Liz surely ? Monkeyman, I get your point now about cool bars, your right, but its just that when I am sitting watching the Uglies in my shorts & T, drinking a cold beer, I dont want to end up shivering like a little Terrier dog pooping razor blades ! C
  20. Sammy, did you know the British Army invented Ice Hockey ? Only match I watched in Canada was Edmonton Oilers V N.York Cosmos ?? in the 80s Wayne Gretzky scored 2. Looks hard work to me, but then my cousin in Edmonton, can't work out how footballers can play for 90 mins without a break. ( And only wear shorts & shirt in the cold) Oh, I knew you meant the girls nip's, thought it might have been the whole point of the cold temp'
  21. I suppose 1 size doesn't fit all in this case, we all have differen't needs, p'raps I am a sensitive soul. But I don't care where you work and in what temperatures, bet you dont do it in T shirt & shorts Snowbird ! Even in Edmonton where the summer is about 6 weeks long you have A.C in every car/van/truck to keep you used to the cold. So Sammy your nipples get erect ? Mine too !
  22. Monkeyman, if you think there is nothing wrong with the A.C at all, perhaps you are better insulated than I am. Do I detect a touch of agression in you post ? I am pefectly aware of how many warm bars there are, I was just giving my oppinion. I don't need advise from you where to drink.
  23. Am I the only one that finds the A.C. at FLB a bit too efficient ? Last visit in Nov, had to leave after an hour or so 'cos me GF's teeth were chattering. I remember last Feb' when all the comfy seats were taken, we had to sit at door end of bar and it was like a freezer fan, might as well have been at home ! I always thought people drank less cold beer if they were cold !? Perhaps I am getting old, or spend too much time in the open bars. just thought I'd mention it
  24. Arrived 13 Nov EVA, and was asked for my b/pass. Had a sign on desk asking for same. My mate arrived 1 week earlier on Thai, he was not asked. Maybe it's just T 2. Its worth hanging on to it anyway, especialy if you leave something o/board. you can be sure of your seat number, and they make a fair bookmark too !
  25. Roland is on the right track with the knickers. But how about a polaroid picture of a TG with them on included in the deal, could be same girl for each pair, or a few different ones, give 'em a couple of hundred baht to pose. 15 quid a go, the world will beat a path to your P.O Box. No shipping problems, no storage, one casefull will set you up for the year. I might do it ! Dont worry, I'll wear protective clothing.
