I was just wondering what you other chaps feel about the "Wild Ones" that seem to frequent Pattaya & Chang Mai. Aparently some Thai husbands go to work in Singapore for a year or two, and send money back every month to their wives, who they think are saving in the bank for their return. When they come back to Thailand their wife has used money to buy car, take boyfreind on holiday, and moved home. He comes home to nothing- hey it makes you think don't it? It it a great place to watch the Ferang groups of couples, usually elderly, who dont realise that soi Happy isa dead end, they get just past the bar and realise that the only place to go is Happy Go-Go. Having flown BKK/LHR on EVA with Thai.Gfrnd. have just realised how little Thai are catered for on flite. No Thai sound on movies, or music on headset, inflite mag' is 90% Chinese with some English- I know the same mag' is on all sectors,just making the point, for a 11hour+ flt it pretty bad. Because I worked for the EVA handling company, the EVA Rep at LHR asked how their flt compared to Thai. When I told her what I have thought about the service for Thais, she said "Yes a lot of people have mentioned that, perhaps we could do something about it " So, if you have the same experience, have a word on arrival, they may change things, but it is a consideration if you chose them as I did, because they are cheaper than Thai

Woody, No my daughter is only 10 years younger than my GF, but they are great shopping/ bopping mates. Gerald I got the info on the Thai 'cos I worked until yesterday for Air Canada and we handle Thai & Eva at LHR. Thai use our res' system so I just do a transaction for the flight, but only on the day of departure- Thai will give me info on future flights. Eva have their own system, but a quick call to their office will get me loads months ahead. 13 July they are going to a full 747 instead of the combi they use in winter, this will give a lot more seats in Y. When I booked 2 seats in April BKK-LHR-BKK 03 Jun/31 Jul, the agent could only book us as wait listed 31 Jul, but now we are confirmed. Eva staff tell me it is cheaper to buy tickets in Thailand than the U.K But I think it is true of most countries, the old Brits are ripped off for just about everything, from cheese to cars.
