Displayed prices are for multiple nights. Check the site for price per night. I see hostels starting at 200b/day and hotels from 500b/day on agoda.

  1. Thanks for the information. Hope to see you the next time I am in Pattaya. I hope the comedians and resident trolls here don't succeed in destroying the thread.
  2. Good luck getting a room or finding a parking place. But don't worry the floods are north of Pattaya. Anyone on this board in Pattya?
  3. Hello Handsome, Please wire $200,000 to my Nigerian account.
  4. You can also send it using the Thai postal service. It may take a few days longer. Not sure of the price difference.
  5. Using the rent vs own calculator at Yahoo http://realestate.yahoo.com/calculators/ And playing with different input numbers can be a very enlightening exercise. You can use it in reverse by putting in realistic numbers to see how much rent you would need to break even by renting it out. You can't put in exchange rate changes. haha
  6. I can take the SIM card out of the edge device and put it in my phone. I do this when I want to add credits. When I use the USB device it acts like a modem and has a userid and a number that it calls. I just don't know what that ID is or what number it calls. I want to have the option of using my fancy Nokia phone instead of the stupid Edge device.
  7. I have the edge modem that you plug into a USB port but I would like to use my cell phone instead taking the sim card out and puting in my phone. I have a problem as I have no idea what the number is to call and what my userid is. It was done for me by the guy I bought it from at Tucom. Could you tell me how to do it?
  8. The three month report to immigration on a retirement visa is quick and easy. Taxis are cheap in THailand and can be found easily to take you to immigration if it is in the same city. A little harder if you have to travel but travel is one of the best bargains in Thailand. Find an English speaking Thai girl to assist you if you are old and feeble.
  9. !!! Is that a real answer to the question?
  10. Has anyone cashed a personal check at a Thai bank? I have a U.S. bank checking account and it would sure be easier then using an ATM or making a wire transfer.
  11. If you buy stocks you can buy the FXA etf which invests in the Australian dollar. Interest is paid as dividends.
  12. I thought you were talking about Bush at first.
  13. I was in Tucom yesterday and I saw this device and service called Mobile Net. You plug a receiver/transmitter into a USB port and then pay a monthly fee for GSM internet access. AIS, DTAC etc provide the service. Email, SMS etc. The receiver is about 6K Baht. Not sure if it is full internet. Has anyone used it? Is it an alternative for when ADSL or WIFI is not available?
  14. What is the best way to get there from Pattaya other then driving? Minibuses? Tours?
  15. How can I find a house for 30K baht?

    Sailing

The only sailing it do is when I go back to the U.S. on holiday. Starting to go into withdrawal. I don't see many sil boats out when I look out onto the water. Are there any expats here that sail? Anyone need crew? Want to share a day sail charter?
  17. It is a certificate of residency. Get the form at Immigration. Need receipts for rent etc to show where you live. One or 2 pics and some baht. With this paper you can get bank account to use for retirement visa.
  18. They are impossible to work with at all times unless they are taking in your money. They are one of the worst companies I have ever had to deal with. They cost me big money with their incompetence and disdain for customers.
  19. My tourist visa was issued by the Thai consulate in the U.S. I did not qualify for a non-immigrant visa (11 criteria) and did not have enough documentation to get the retirement visa. I had hoped to get the one year non-immigrant visa in the U.S. first because I believed what I read on the boards. I guess the Thai consulate doesn't read the boards. lol Time was important as I had a TG patiently waiting for me so I just took the 90day tourist visa. Once I arrived Pattaya I did the work to get the retirement visa in Jomtien. The best way would be to get the retirement visa before coming
  20. I guess I just got lucky doing it here. Plan on renewing here again in one month. I tried to get non-immigration visa before I came and they said no. Instead I got a tourist visa. After I got here I changed to retirement visa which is a type of non-immigration visa.
  21. Because you can't always get one. They don't give them to you just because you ask. Have to have a reason for no-img visa. Being a tourist does not qualify. http://www.pattaya-immigration.org/visas.p...ick&lang=EN
