From the Pattaya Mail Friday Nov 5: "Pedestrian crossings signals go live" As of 1 Novemebe there are 42 lights installed at pedestrian crossings. There are now buttons to push that will change the traffic light from green to yellow to red. However, the major did state that "there will still be problems with drivers continuing to ignore the pedestrian crossing and with pedestrians realizing they need to push a button to cross." Theye are actual lights not just "lines on the street". You should come to Pattaya one day and see for yourself that this is not a media myth.

Just for fun, I checked on what my flight on 1 Nov would be if I booked on Oct 30th. Over $3000 Delta SEA-NRT-BKK vice the $947 I paid in July.

What price do you get just going outside? 1000 is a great price

I try and book 90+ days in advance since that was how far ahead NW would let you select seats. When I went to select seats with Delta, it seems they have changed this to something farther in advance. This trip I got a great deal on DL but usually wind up using an agent (ThaiFly).

I go with where I have highest FF status. In this case it is NW (now Delta). I just hope the pilots have figured out the work schedule computer by March. Be a bit awkward to fly past Bangkok by a few hundred miles. But then again, my last two flights the flight attendants announced descent a good 200 miles BEFORE we got to the airport :-)

Even FF tickets are not free. You wind up paying Tax and other charges.

I left on 4 Oct early (3 AM) and there was no line at the airport security desks. Amsterdam used to also do security checks after immigration but the huge lines and backups made them change to the gates. Anyone been there during a crowded time? I can see huge backups during peek times. Also, the airline checks at the gate are still there. They still do the hand pat downs and bag checks before you go down to the gate.

I had made reservations Monday NW SEA-NRT-BKK. Round trip came to $1145 (Using discount airline ticket agent www.Thaifly.com). This morning I had to download the credit card form and noticed that NW had a hot deal that had started 1 July. Ticket now was listed at $490 (vice $810) and with taxes, fuel, weekend surcharge..... It came to $890.00. I fly 15 Sep return 4 October. Based on my track record of hitting: UUD protest in Pattaya last trip PAD airport shutdown second to last Coup third to last It would be best if you aviod those dates :D

Your example of the lady that was dumped because her boyfriend caught her in a lie because of a picture here is completely ludicrous. As you imply, she was sponsored. She chose to switch bars and continue to work while accepting money from her so called boyfriend. She chose to NOT to put her past behind her. Had she really wanted a future and not cash, she could very easily have stopped working and not been in the bar to have her picture taken. Might I suggest an incremental approach. Start with 12 Oz. paper cups and work up to 16 Oz. Mugs. If treatment is satisfactory, the final stage should be 64 Oz, pitchers. Of course, this treatment should also be over 12 weeks or so. I would expect liberal leave from work would be in order

Went there yesterday and saw very few custoners and maybe 12 ladies. The glass floor upstairs is still there. The sexy dancer downsatirs do put a bit of energy into it. Only glanced usatirs for a quick look and everyone was dressed. They do give a 20% off coupon with your order good only if presented before ordering so a repeat trip is if the works.

Like I said, drunk toursits undressing is where I leave. Maybe in a group of friends this would be acceptable. I would guess he paid through the nose and never even noticed.

Went into the Kitten club and was plesently surprised to see they have a jacuzi in the back now. After ordering a coke (it came in a 10oz. bottle), I settled in to watch the lovely kittens play in the tank. The coke arrived and the bill did not have a price on it. After one round of kittens, the second two arrived just as another customer sat down in the front row. He then proceeded to undress and enter the tub while I quickly moved far away. Not sure why this bar would encourgae this since I for one have no desire to watch some drunk in the tub. I asked for a bill and found my 10oz. coke was 125 baht. I hate to think what I would have been charged for a beer. No wonder they do not list prices on the tab. NEVER AGAIN

I do not see it cheaper or faster. Just imagine a plane with 2x the passengers landing in Thailand. Even if you are in the front and can get through immigration and customs first, your bags are still going to take forever.

One thing not mentioned is how the renter knew it is missing. Since it was not due, how did he know it is missing? Also, one way to reduce chances that the renter takes it is to suppply your own lock. I do tis every trip and had one guy ask me why I used different lock. When I asked him how he knew, subject was rapidly dropped.

My usual hotel "Somerset on Soi 15" is closed for remodeling so i need to find a new guest friendly hotel in the area. Soi 15 is handy since it is between Nana and Soi Cowboy. Also it is close to Eden club. Any recomendations (other then Nana and Dynasty)?????

I wind up on KLM from AMS-BAH. The attitude of almost everyone in AMS is "NOT POSSIBLE". On the plane, they seem to be the most unfriendly flight attnedents anywhere.

I have the Bose (second version) and would not travel without them. The current version has a detachable (easily lost :crying :crying ) cord that makes it very easy to use if you do not want to watch the movies.

I too fly NWA from US to Bangkok (Via Narita). I travel for work alot and they are the prefered carrier on most of my trips. Once I got platinum elite (over 75000 miles), I started getting the occasional (1 in 4 legs) bump to buisiness class (when cocah is full).
