  1. Great pictures as usual, thanks Hammer it´s good to see that you always run a happy bar! I will see you soon so stock up my friend and take care! Whilliam
  2. I agree, the Thai mind seems to be much more pragmatic and "practical" and be all about how much you can get out of a relationship in different "values", for yourself, your family, materialistic as well as "for face" and this seems to over shadow the importance of love a lot of times. To the Philippinas it seems that love and a good steady life is the most important thing and comes before the big money! I think that one of the reasons behind this might be that poverty is so much persistent in the Philippines together with the Catholic Church's very strong influence that preach the importance of love over and over again, but I could be dead wrong here! 3. Looks like a good and decent place to stay for a good price on a fairly good location. I would think that this should be a good place to consider for most people going to LOS for a week or two. Good luck to you, I will come in for a beer and a shot or two of Blackbush when I get back. After all I was born in Cork, the place were my fathers family lived! Whilliiam
  4. Don´t worry about it, the building regulations will stop it for sure since the laws, rules and regulations in Thailand and especially in Pattaya are unbendable and no bribes exist! Whilliam
  5. I don´t get it, who cooks eggs for 50 minutes? Whilliam
  6. Thanks, I will sure look you up when I get back! There is something with a hot grandmother and the sisters that get my dirty fantasies going! Whilliam
  7. Unfortunately there will always be people like that, especially in a tourist country like Thailand, (it´s like the easy lifestyle, the cheap booze and the warm weather attracts a 10-15% lunatic tourism on top of the sane ones), people that have no respect for other peoples properties or a written contract. On the other hand I had a big Thai company as a landlord in Bangkok 2005, and a contract that stated that included in the rent were air con in all rooms, warm water at all times and modern functional plumbing! After having the air con broken for all together 5 of the 12 month, the plumbing constantly flooding the bathrooms floors and the warm water work one week out of 3, they still argued for 3 weeks before reducing my last 3 month of rent. What I´m saying is that you have idiots on both sides if you are unlucky! I am glad that your situation worked out for you at last, Mick! Whilliam
  8. I would suggest that you either go to Chang Mai directly after you visited your girlfriends family in Isaan, (there are some good bus lines or you could fly from Korat), or that you go down and visit Ryoong and the islands on the southeast cost, (Coh Chang among them), lt´s a beautiful area. I would not recomend to go to Phuket because December-April is high season in Phuket and the airfare as well as the prices to/and in Phuket are a lot higher than to what they are in the summer. A sure thing to do in Bangkok is to take your girlfriend shopping at Patunam, (the shopping district were all the street vendours by there things, dirt cheep), then take her out for drinks at the sky bar, (you have to reserve a table), at the Banyon tree hotel and then dinner at the Sangri la Hotel, (reserve a table at their buffe`, 1200 bath and worth every penny, and they serve all kinds of food so even if your lady is very Thai/Isaan in her tastes for food, she will love it), and if you have some time over you can either take another drink in the Jazz bar at Sangri la or take one of the free ferry boats across the river for a drink at the hotel there, all very romantic! She will love you for ever and tell all her friends about it time and time again. Good luck and have a good time! Whilliam
  9. This is a fairly new place, I remember walking past it when they were still building bthe place. It semes to be a good place only a couple of 3 or 4 blocks away from Nana Plaza but still on the more lazy part of the street. The area have really taken a "freshen up" session after this place were opened and you se a lot of the other places repaint and fix up their premises. I would say go for it, try it out, it can´t be that bad but it maight be great! Good luck! Whilliam

  15. It sure have all the ingredients for a civil war if they don´t watch out, but the funny as well as dumb thing in this is that the majority of the Thai armed forces, (and so the real power), comes from that group of "dumb and ignorant peasant stock of the population". It is such a travesty of democracy! Whilliam
