Just got my first pay slip with my Thai taxes taken out. A whopping 20% was taken out! WTF! Is there anything that a company can do to compensate an expat that will not be taxable by Thai Law? Housing allowance? Transport Allowance? etc etc etc? I made the decision to leave my home country mostly because I was being taxed 35%. Now that I am being taxed 20% is it really worth the move?

In your personal opinion, am I a undesirable customer? I don't seem to have issues with any other bar owners in Pattaya. Could it be a personal issue with me that said bar owner has?

Each to their own. My mother was the manager of a Mexican fast food place in the States while I was growing up, so I know what "I" like in Mexican food. I find that the hard shell tacos, the sizzling fajitas, and also the sloppy nachos, to be very nice to my taste buds. That being said, the burritos are shit I must agree. At any restaurant, you must know the menu. The first place that serves "real" nacho cheese in Thailand, will be my new favorite place to eat!

I will not return and try the food until I see a significant change in the reports on the food. It has been, shall I say, RANCID for far too long. No need for me to waste money on food I wont eat. I will go to Taquila Reef and get food that I know that I will enjoy.

If I could offer some advice, Bob's Mexican was shite the last two times I tried it. You might want to improve this part of the menu. If you stay with what was in place, I doubt I will ever return. Good luck on your investment.

I still make it to Pattaya once a week. Yesterday had some scran at Tequila Reef, then to the floating market, and ended the day off with an elephant ride.

I always make sure to have a drink or two in Joy Bar when I am in Pattaya. I agree, that the talent is very low there now. In previous years I had been known to take multiple girls from there. I have taken 1 in the last 2 years. Yes, the beer ther is more dear that the Sailor bar. But, I still like to have a beer or two at this bar when I am in town. They have taken care of me when I was drunk multiple times.

Nup, I avoid Sukky Road like the plague when on me scoot. Night riding on the scoot around my little village is okay, but not on the busy roads. It's a good thing I got everything I need within a 5 minutes ride, and I do not have to cross any major roads.

I do not ride a motorbike when in Pattaya. I do however, ride my scooter around Chonburi City on a regular basis. The driving is a little more "civilized" outside of Pattaya IMHO. Most likely due to the pissed up tourists racing around on rented crotch rockets, and pissed off Songtaew drivers just itching to make road kill of anything white on a motorbike.

Why not just troll all the Pattaya Forums, and make a list of where all the parties with free food, and drink specials are going to be at? Then, you can have free food basically, while you drink at the bars.
