Get ready for another big storm (maybe)
Harvey replied to MM's topic in General Discussion about Pattaya
5:20 p.m., Saturday October 17 Dang, sure looks like it's raining hard to the north. I wonder if the rain storm is headed our way. The humidity it thick enough to cut with a knife. -
Review: LK The Empress Hotel (w/photos)
Harvey replied to Harvey's topic in Hotel and Accommodation Questions
Green upvote. I could probably make some money if I could convince the LK group to let me choose their interior decor. I have zero taste in things like that, but even as bad as I am, I will never confuse myself or my tastes with that of Louis XIV. I'd gut the entire place and turn the decor of LK rooms into a combination of Thai, Zen and sex pit. Minimalist furniture all under a mini-sala. A king bed that converts into something huge with the push of a button for your threesomes. All with paint and furniture schemes that some designer would call "sandy mauve". Yeah, that would -

In Thailand, because of the overwhelming heat, you need a good shower hose for the butt shower, I guess. I mean, how else are you going to wash away the butt sweat caused by heat and humidity. "Butt sweat", two words that aren't always used in together in company. Tangent: That's like a few years back when the board was abuzz about "balls massage". I still don't get that. Who needs a massage on balls? The only thing I want massaging my balls is some TG's tongue. Just sayin'. -

LOL - I used to think that the LK group hired somebody's great grandma to choose the decor of their rooms. -
^ Martin, I hit Brooklyn....okay, not the best. Will swing by Fire and Stone next week. Pete -- OMG, I had a small personal (5") Hawaiian Pizza at the Beer Garden.....dude, for the sake of civilization as we know it, we just GOTTA do better than that. When I was kid, I did better pizzas in a toaster oven and toppings on an English muffin. Oh My Buddah! Also, sadly, my WS hello girl wanted Pizza Hut the other night. Jeebus H. Christmas.....the things we do to make the cute girl happy just before sex. Pizza hut -- yuck. :-(

Yeah Martin. This is a one-time deal for me. I wanted to go back to Page 10, but the last time I was there, I was trying to (cowardly) hide from a TG who was working at Sabai Land. One of the desk clerks there snitched on me late night/early morning one day and told the Sabai Land TG that I was up there with someone else. Wow, that wasn't fun later when we met for lunch the next day. Sabai girl: I told you....YOU NO SEX SHE. (The "she" means any other female in Pattaya). Then she took a few swings at me. LOL.....only in Ptty. -
The LK Empress Hotel is a handsome mid-rise hotel consisting on two separate buildings at the corner of Beach Road and Soi 12. This review is associated with the booking of a Deluxe Sea View King Bed with Jacuzzi room via Agoda. As usual, YMMV. But before I go any further, here is their website: https://lkpattaya.com/empress/ I found my recent stay at the LK Empress to be a "meh" kind of experience. The hotel doesn't have anything specifically bad associated with it. But it stands out in no specific area. For Yanks who have been associated with management/leadership work, the Emp

Get ready for another big storm (maybe)

Storm blasting near my hotel (LK The Empress). A crack of thunder just blasted right overhead, startling the crew working breakfast. Rain coming down in buckets, but Beach Road handling it. Just some standing puddles of water in low parts of road. Edited to add: never mind. Raining too hard for drains to handle. 2-3 inches of water on beach road, worse on the beach side of street. Standing water levels growing. Edited again. In 3 minutes, water is to the top of curb along beach of Beach Road. It's overflowed onto the sidewalk in some places. Dang, water accumulates fast her -

Dang, I guess this is a good day to head on over to Big C to watch a movie later on. I had hoped to make it over to Bliss late this afternoon, but am not interested in getting stuck. -
Get ready for another big storm (maybe)
Harvey replied to MM's topic in General Discussion about Pattaya
Just after 6:00 a.m. and a small rumble of thunder and some lightning flashes have worken me up. I guess anytime an area is recovering from drought, rain is good. So it is this morning. Off topic question: How can a little 4 foot 11 inch, 95 lb little Thai girl snore so loudly? I'm thinking that I've gotten older, I've come to value my personal time and space. STs are more and more attractive to me. -
Recommended Tailor in Pattaya
Harvey replied to kuranda_bagman's topic in General Discussion about Pattaya
I didn't want to start a separate thread for this thought, so I just did a search for any tailor thread to post this to. Someone -- I forget who -- on this board was going around and purposefully shaking the hand of every tailor they passed. Just to kind of turn the tables on them hitting everyone who passed their shop. I just arrived from Tokyo early last night, giddy from finishing a work project and was in a kind of stupid mood. So, after dinner, drinks and bar fining a young woman of the "you boom boom too mutt" persuasion, on the way back to the hotel I started shaking the han -

I didn't watch, but if anyone else did, can you please explain how Samoa lost to the Japanese? I would have guessed that the Samoans would have just run the Japanese over -- even though they were ranked very closely. (Perhaps I'm just using Japan's rugby history and size stereotypes in my mind to color my opinions). I get that the Japanese have a number of "adopted" Japanese team members (and perhaps Eddie Jones is the real difference maker), but still..... They play the United States next. I don't even want to watch out of fear for the Yanks getting toasted.

Wow, thanks guys for the recommends. Am going to try Fire and Stone if only b/c Evil's photo plus Martin's discount info make it compelling. But will try most of the other places in this thread -- already posted and in any subsequent posts -- just because I love pizza. :-)

I'm headed into Ptty sometime next week after finishing up business here in Tokyo. You'd think that an advanced society like the Japanese would have mastered pizza-making by now. But noooooo, I haven't found anything around where I've been working that even comes close to the pizza that I'm craving. Because pizza comes in all kinds of different "sub-species", let me define what I'm looking for. **Something like a big slice in NYC** -- thin crust (I hate bready crusts) but not too crispy either. Ideally sliced big enough to fold over. Nothing fancy or modern -- don't want cheese stu

Kudos to Greg for the reviews. But I'm with js007. As I've gotten older -- sigh -- I've found myself eating less. If I were in my 20s, I could make all of those buffets pay for offering all-you-can eat to me. But these days, I don't eat like I used to (and still gain weight), so buffets are not in my economic sweet zone. I'd rather pay a more to get really high *quality* food than worry about pigging out at mid-level quality food for the same price. Just my dos centavos.

I second Jacko's post. I get kamagra gels at Tim's and my body tolerates that well. Viagra gets my sinuses completely stuffed up, I get a wicked headache, and get really flushed. It's turned me into a big kamagra fan.

Dang, I had my money on a couple of Burmese laborers. They're getting craftier.

Anyone know if this bar is still open?
Harvey replied to Chester007's topic in General Discussion about Pattaya
I'm showing my age -- my advanced age. But I still love playing that dice game and Connect 4 with the bar girls. From Gizmodo, How to Win at Connect 4 Every Time - Link: http://gizmodo.com/heres-how-to-win-every-time-at-connect-four-1474572099 -
I was in town last year -- I think it was mid-October -- when they were repaving second road OMG, that was a complete disaster. There where holes big enough to swallow a baht bus. Traffic and dust were horrible. Thais amaze me. In some areas, very specific manufacturing for instance, they're just great. But try to pave a freaking road? Can't do it.

Hotel in the heart of the action?

I don't know who gave you a red, down vote. But I thought this was hilarious. -

Hotel in the heart of the action?
Harvey replied to Sailfast's topic in Hotel and Accommodation Questions
I've been at the Hard Rock (once, but never again). I didn't get assessed a joiner fee, but never tried to bring more than one to my room at a time. What local are they going to be prowling (I use the word "prowl" in honor of Winston) at? Walking Street? Soi 6 LK Metro? I think if you want a hotel in the middle of the action, where they'll call home base for "action" will determine where they stay. Also budget? If Soi 6, the @Mind Serviced Residence was nice. The Centara is also right there and Siam@Siam looks good. All about the same price. I've stayed at both Areca and L
