  6. Sunny, what are PST? I opened an account at the same Bangkok Bank 12 months ago and they wanted a non immigrant visa or no account. Good bank, you can open internet account but at that time you had to go to the bank, fill out forms etc to set up for internet transfer from your Bangkok Bank account to another Bangkok Bank account. It could not be done on line. I forgot pin and it only cost 100 baht for new one, from memory 500 baht deposit to open and 250 baht for atm card ?????? John
  7. Eric, All Seasons Travel, South Pattaya Rd opposite friendship supermarket have a good reputation among the Aussie ex-pats. They looked after me ok. In saying that, if you decide to fly Thai and all other things being equal, book through the Thai office on corner of Beach and North Pattaya Rd. If paying by credit card, (Diners in my case), they do not put a surcharge on the price for using credit card. Information correct as of 4th June 2004. John
  8. Worked a treat, cleaned out about 1.6 gig of rubbish, took about 8 mins to delete them and halved virus checking run time...Thanks John
  9. I am a relatively new user of XP. To delete Tempory Internet files I have been opening tools, Internet options, then in the temporary internet section clicking 'Delete Files" This allows me to delete the files but also gives me the option to "Delete all offline content" by ticking a box. What am I going to delete by ticking the box. The obvious answer is all off line files but could someone enlighten me how disasterous this could be. The only reason I ask is that I delete Temp Internet files before running virus checker and I still see files that I thought I had deleted being checked. Th

  16. Fonz, I just paid today for my next trip through Harvey world Travel and they charged 1% surchage. Using an ANZ Qantas Visa card gave me bonus frequent flyer points so that took the sting out of it. Dayshift, I purchased last year an all inclusive package, 12 month, multi trip from Columbus Direct 1300 669 999 for AUD 179.99. Their excesses are high and you can only be out ot the Australia for 60 days but if you end in Bangkok Pattaya hospital for two weeks an excess of AUD 250 is the least of your worries. As the old saying goes " If you cannot afford the insurance, you cannot afford the

  19. G, I purchased a stack of western DVDs dubbed in Thai, with actors I have never heard of and the most pitifull story lines. I bought them from big C in north Pattaya. These were legit and cost between 19 and 29 Baht. Made a big hit with the then GF as I left my DVD with her between visits. The more inane the more she loved them. John
  20. I set my Australian mobile phone on international roam and take it to Thailand, leave it turned on and plugged into the charger in my room and use the second hand nokia I bought at big C as my Thailand mobile. I leave a message on the land line fixed phone answering machine in Australia advising my email address and Australian mobile phone number to use with SMS. Any calls made on my Australian mobile number get diverted to my mobile. A little expensive but my family can always get in touch with me. Also if you return to Thailand at 3 or 4 month intervals you can top your 12 call
