I shall have look and see what the demographics are for Bristol in terms of % of ethnic minority to see whether it is higher or lower that 20% (a fifth of the community) update, it looks like you are right in terms of proportion if all the inmates were from Bristol which looking at some average figures is now around 13.5 % ethnic minority per overall population. However there are no real statistics to support the number of immigrants having a higher crime ratio in the area than those that hold BPs or are British citizens, which include Black Brtish people. Since the prison population is around 550 inmates it is not easy to access the real implications.

I dont think either is true according to stats I published before, and I do not think for one minute that Muslim immigrants commit more crimes than the indigenous British population. It is the employers who are to blame who want to pay the least wages and some of them do not even pay the National minimum wage. Many young people these days do not want to start at the bottom like we did. They want to go into fancy jobs from leaving school, and when some of them realise that they are not going to earn such good money, they often look for other means. That was ALL I was saying. I would agree that there are limited choices in some London Boroughs for candidates. Politicians need to get their houses in order. I have the same sort of dilema where i live, even though I know the Labour MP personally. Right now, I dont have so many concerns about my local area, but I think more about the party that will be voted in and the effects on the Nation as a whole. I think we are heading for economic gloom for sometime and the only way the city ( finance) will react positively is by a sizeable Tory majority.
