  3. they have a coupe of different size rooms - but go for the gusto and get the biggest room - about 400 baht (this was 2 years ago). was up about 3 floors from go-go...so no noise. Tim has a HUGE safe - like from a bank - that you can store your stuff in - but be advised that Tim is not always around when you want to get in to the safe. my biggest problem was having to go through the go-go to get to my room....always "forced" me to have another drink or three. but from what i have heard there is now an entrance in the rear/side to get to the rooms. all in all a good place to stay - food is easy to get across the street at Lek hotel (buffet) and down the street at Kiss. great staff and extremely user friendly. also there are pool tables in back, an internet cafe and quite possibly the cleanest bathroom in pattaya.
  4. flew China Air once - NEVER again. late leaving Hawaii, late leaving Japan, late leaving Taiwan. For about a grand total of 3 hours late getting in to BKK. I have also flow United, N'West and JAL - prefer JAL.
  5. the above post is with N'West Spring/early Summer sale
  6. check here http://www.angeltravel.com/ $595 Departure between now and May31, sales end Apr29,
  7. Deals for June here on N'West http://www.angeltravel.com/Airfare/Northwe...une_Special.htm main site http://www.angeltravel.com/ pretty good deals from mainland US - at times cheaper from LA and sometimes East Coast than from Hawaii to BKK.
  8. I find it much easier to deal directly with the hotel via email. If they ask/demand deposit and/or credit card info - I refuse and find another. Most confirm via email with no deposit required. And, of course, I re-confirm just prior to departure.
  9. check out Pete's video on Songkran.....bring lots of zip lock bags and towels
  10. Druid appreciate the report. I learned a long time ago to empty the fridge as soon as I check in and then re-stock it from 7-11.
  11. Flew China Air once...never again....departed HNL late, departed TPE late, departed Japan late and therefore, arrived in BKK LATE (about 2 1/2 hours late). Plus being in the TPE airport for 5 or 6 hours listening to the LOUD overhead speakers making constant announcements in Chinese. Only good thing was they had about twice the number of flight attendants as JAL/United/N'West. My airline of choice is JAL...Only one stop at Narita or Kansai and they have recently established a flight that arrives at 2015 BKK time (instead of the normal 2345). This is from HNL. The other good thing with this new flight is the layover is about 1 1/2 hours insted of 4-5 hours. Wish that Thai Air flew to Hawaii...but alas...they don't. It gets kinda frustrating to see airline prices from west coast to BKK cheaper than from Hawaii.
  12. advance party usually arrives around 20 - 25 April and Main body around 5 - 10 May and will stay until end of May. Few stragglers will be around til about the 10th of June.
