    kebab-Lady

Had a good chicken kebab on Soi 3 - 2nd road...but the best one I had was sitting in a beer bar on Walking Street across from FLB - a place called the Unicorn - told the owner's daughter that I was hungry and wanted a kebab - she dashed off and came back in a couple of minutes with what had to be the best i ever had - but i have no idea where she got it. she walked out the back (towards 2nd road) and disappeared. -but it sure was good....dont know the cost as it was my last night in Pattaya and she treated me.

  7. There is a relatively new flight from Honolulu to BKK Flight NO. Departure City Departure time (dd hh:mm) Arrive City Arrive time (dd hh:mm) Stops A/C Class CI 001 Honolulu 24 07 : 50 Taipei 25 12 : 15 0 340 FCY CI 695 Taipei 25 13 : 05 Bangkok 25 15 : 45 0 AB6 FCY Unlike N'West, United, JAL and previous CAL flights - that all arrive between 2230 and 0130 - this one only has a 50 minute layover in Taipei (and one stop as opposed to two on other flight - Taipei and Tokyo) and arrives during daylight hours. So no more arriving at about midnight and getting to hotel at appr

  9. stayed there for 3 weeks last month...one of the better deals in town....beer bar outside, go-go inside and about 20 rooms upstairs.....with jacuzzi 650-750 and without 350-450....great service....friendly staff and no hassles. i stayed in a BIG room...with jacuzzi....talked em down from 750 to 700 per night....bigt room, fridge, good A/C with a fan...2 in-room safes and a separate bathroom shower. only drawbacks....no phone in room (could be a good thing) and no restaurant...but Lek hotel right across street has buffet breakfast for 85 baht and Kiss is right down the street. no credi

  12. used Star once...never again. the lady (Chris??) was a real pain in the ass. we flew to BKK in Dec and didnt have a confirmed return - no problem for me and my buddy - but she didnt want to issue to tickets to us. when we sat on her desk and refused to leave without the tickets, she finally relented. she also told us that the reason we couldnt get a return was that it was "golden week" in japan - which was a flat out lie. she was also very difficult to contact on the phone and got a bazillion calls while dealing with us. i got my ticket through panda for a decent rate and finally get to
  13. if you are leaving on the 15th...we are on the same flight
  14. just grab a girl at a bar and ask if she wants to go to Chiang Mai...or wherever...and have her show you around...win-win situation
  15. if it is any consolation...searching on line gave me prices of 1600 - 2500 dollars from Honolulu to BKK....calling travel agent got me a ticket at $535....and i got mine about 6 days prior to flying.....about 2 1/2 days to go now!!!
  16. Thai Air is giving away 20,000 tickets to those flying from wherever to Thailand - lottery style on the incoming flight. Too bad Thai doesn't fly from Hawaii.
  17. China Air is not my favorite airline since their current fights from HNL to BKK make 2 stops - Taipei and Japan and arrive at about 0120 in the morn (if you are lucky - last time i used them they were about 2 1/2 hours late arriving). HOWEVER.....they have a new flight...instead of leaving between 10 AM and noon like most flights out of Hawaii...this one leaves at 8 AM.....goes to Taipei...with a 50 minute layover....yes you heard me....50 minute......not 4 or 5 hours..and get this...it arrives at 1545.....instead of the usual after midnight.....almost like getting an additional day....this f
  18. I will be further down the street at Woraburi (if they ever confirm) and will be heading down the same day. would be glad to split costs - just dont want to get one of those mini-vans with 10 other people that makes 47 stops along the way. prefer private car - direct shot. i get in to BKK late on 16th (2245). larry
  19. I went through http://www.pandaonline.com 1-888-PANDA-88 they have 4 or 5 offices (under different names) - I wnt to the one across the street from Pearlridge - P III travel after calling the toll free number and confirming. Somteimes the web site is cheaper and sometimes calling is cheaper. Friendly place - just weird how they do business. They always have a big ad in the Sunday travel section - usually on the last page on the bottom.
  20. I picked up my ticket today. I was quoted a price of $534.70. The travel agent told me the "actual" price was 1162.70 and that is the price reflected on the ticket. She told me that they would bill my credit card for 1162.70 and she then handed me a check for $628.00. Grand total is still 534.70 - but I don't understand the system. I asked and she said something along the lines of - "the airline price is $1162.70 and the discount is from the travel company". Doesn't make sense to me. But, I love the price.
  21. booked today for a flight on 7/15 - $535 R/t with taxes. not a super deal but better than the usual $600 I normally pay. counting the hours!
