There are plenty of hotels you can deal with direct when it comes to booking a room so you don't get an agent taking a fee. You just got to do the leg work finding the hotels that take direct internet bookings, there are plenty in the hotel review section with direct links to their websites. Failing that get their phone number and book your room that way. Hope that helps. KC

I don't see any point dealing with an agent. I stay at the flipper lodge, and they always e-mail me back confirmation, usually the next day and they don't ask for a deposit. KC.

I just booked 1 night at the Majestic suites in Bangkok for 29/11 staying 1 night before i fly home. I got the standard reply asking for my credit card info, to which i replied telling them i don't e-mail my credit card details to anyone and i'll make alternative arrangements if required. Just received confirmation today that my booking will be held for me. KC

We had a go at this bowling a few years back. Turned out to be a fun few hours followed by several cold beers in the clubhouse after. They have shoes you can hire if yours are'nt suitable. KC

These guys are for the most part ok and i've never been bothered by them being around, and i got talking to a bunch of them in Peppermint last May 03. They were on a midnight curfew but had somehow managed to loose one of their group. If they did'nt manage to find him then they were all up shit creek even if they got back on time. One short was no good. Don't know if they found him or not. OK they're loud sometimes, but they are young guys who are just as entitled to R/R as the rest of us, possibly more so after some of the places they've been stationed. KC

Was'nt meant as a flame Roland, hope you did'nt think it was. Asking the guys on here might turn up some good options and actually save the guy some leg work, don't see no problem with that.
