  1. Problem for us is, the TG flight gets in at 0530. around the same time as 6 other international flights. last time there we ran from the gate to Immigration and the wait was only 20 minutes but when we looked behind us the queue was enormous and only 2 people on Immigration duty. Dont they pay overtime??
  2. Ive never faulted the Arab airlines in the past. Gulf Air were always well priced and always had sufficient booze on board to get everyone legless, and on one flight out from LHR to BKK the dinner was actually Fillet Steak !, but these days?? An Arab airline? No way.
  3. Ive never realy bothered with business class or first. I just get on board, eat the dinner then drop half a Zovirax sleeping pill and get woken up at Breakfast !. works for me.
  4. Indeed they do on the 1230PM depart A380. Not sure about their new later flight on a 777 though
  5. It always amazes me why some people will pay big money for a room they only sleep and screw in. It certainly doesnt impress the girls, and they will expect a bigger paypacket when they leave.
  6. From the UK Thai usually has a good fare of around £475 to £500 return, thats why Ithought their fare from London to Vietnam with a Bangkok stop was rather good at £549. If you buy a London to Bangkok ticket at £475 you would then have to pay around £90 for the Bangkok to Vietnam retun sector.
  7. Still got three this morning, all from 'http://url4short.info/c869d19d'
  8. Getting a lot of redirects when trying to access the site
  9. Just checked Thai for outbound on 30 september, then10 days later to Vietnam and from Vietnam to Heathrow via Bangkok £549 ! THought that was a great deal
  10. Thanks for the replies guys. We'll probably just request a wheelchair for him then push him through the long immigration queue. At least we can sit on him if we get tired !
  11. But thge rooms stink of cigarette smoke? For the price its not bad but I just coundnt take the smell. I suspect the stink comes from their uncleaned AC units
  12. OOH sorry sir, didnt realise you were guarding this thread sir, wont do it again sir.honest sir. Cnut
  13. Thanks for the replies. As my wife has a UK Passport she has to go in the queues like the rest of us. Ive contacted Thai about a wheelchair and they have told me it can easily be aranged but I assume that wont get us through immigration any faster so we will probably have to cough up and pay that BFS rate.
  14. I'm married to a Thai, for over 25 years. She has a British Passport (:
  15. Are there any reputable companies selling the Meet& Greet Fast Track thing? I'm taking 2 friends to Bangkok with me then on to Vietnam, one of whom isnt too good on his legs. We would realy want one of the buggy things if possible. As were getting in on the 0530 TG911flight, Immigration will probably be packed solid so getting through immigration faster would also be worth paying for.
  16. I know that, I have flown both. I was just commenting on China Airlines.
  17. The original China airlines flight was quite good as if you checked their flight data and worked it right for the fare, they would fly you to Amsterdam then a free hotel for the night allowing you a night out in Amsterdam and a little smoke (!)and transfers for the night before free transfers again back to the airport for the China Airlines flight as they never had traffic rights to fly from the UK. Food was good, but it was fun to ask for a Tomato juice with a dash of Worcester sauce, that would have them running up and down the aisles trying to find out what it was.
  18. With the release of the the information that from may 2016 KLM is running 2 flights a day from Southampton and Inverness to Amsterdam every day, I did some sniffing and found flights on KLM from Southampton to Bangkok Via Amsterdam for £451 not bad for a one stop flight. And the railway station is only across the road from the Airport. The change of aircraft in Amsterdam is a bit of a bummer though
  19. Yep, stanstead to Cologne then non stop to Bangkok. Suits me fine. I just drop half a sleeping pil and sleep all the way. Its what I don on most long haul flights anyways. I always have a good meal before the flight and rarely eat on the flights.
  20. I dont mind dirt cheap fares at all. The price suits me. I'll take some sandwiches.
  21. You can book the £169 outbound and £169 inbound I just checked. As for food? Take sandwiches (pret a manger). Luggage? I never take much anyway, usually buy stuff there. Its just a cheap fare. Im just booking as I need to be out there in March for business and the fare is £368.98, drop a sleeping pill on the way back? no problems.
  22. Gobsmacked Just found a Stanstead Bangkok Stanstead flight with German Wings via Cologne for £345 !! I kid you not. Found on Skyscanner
