  1. WE always used to sing "warm smell of COLITIS" Poooooooooooooooo
  2. I tried to spell it out a little but he, she or it fails to comprehend the way traffic moves around the world and the way certain companies will raise or lower their seat prices dependant on revenue. Simply check Thai fares pre Qatar embargo then check them 2 weeks after when the cargo trans shipment deal was done. That explains everything. I'm out. I do have contacts in the travel and flights industries that sometimes gets me info that isnt usually available and I try to keep some people advised about fares and rates but it looks like those advisories are pointless now so I wont bother any
  3. I surrender, its just not worth explaining
  4. You misunderstand. Flying in to a country is one thing. To retain those Traffic rights they HAVE to keep flying in, but though they fly in they dont want to be upsetting the Saudi's and breaking the embargo by flying shitloads of food and supplies into Doha. You can bet your left nut that the Saudis have their spies and agents at Doha Airport watching who and what goes in and Thai simply dont care. If you check your newspapers a few weeks back it was even mentioned that Thai were raking it in running food rice and veggies into Doha.
  5. My point being is it must be Slkyscanner 'upping' the fares as too many airlines prices all go up at the same time. So Skyscanner must be manipulating the prices with relation to demand. I see this morning Thai is back to £532, still overpriced considering three months back it was £473
  6. Yesterday I thought I would try something with checking Skyscanner for flights with and without cookies. Many people on other forums state that clearing your cookies will prevent a price increase and many say it wont. I dont think things are as easy as that. I suspect that Skyscanner has some sort of deal going on with the companies they list. They obviously get commision on flights booked through them but I suspect they also get a better rate of commission if they hike the prices a little. Yesterday morning I scanned fares on Skyscanner firstly with the 'Show all' listing, and '1 st
  7. Thanks for the link. A thoughtfull piece about growing old. Ive never realy noticed the aging process untill the last few years when I started gigging less and finding how hard it was to actully energise myself to get up and gig. But now I'm slowing down and it scares me.
  8. Because a lot of food is goint IN to Thailand from various countries then being Trans shipped out to Qatar. Thai are raking it in.
  9. BA on the 777 flights to Bkk also dont have enough 'Normal' meals and many are forced to east salads. All served by their delightful shirtlifting crew.
  10. One of the lucky ones ! go and buy a lottery ticket, quick
  11. But its still not that bad a fare, even if it is on a Dreamliner
  12. What they havent told you is that you'll be sitting on an old blokes lap on the return sector :o :o
  13. Yes, only carry on luggage but the Premium club for £319 is a cracking deal including 27Kg luggage. OOOOOPS Just noticed that the £319 Premium economy price is ON TOP of the £282 fare
  14. OK I accept what you say but a friend flew Eva a few months back and said in his opinion the planes interiors were taking a hammering. Maybe he only has a small arse !!
  15. This a Thompsons flight Bloody cheap though it is a Dreamliner.......OOOPS £282 for economy £319 for Premium club . Though you could take this flight and then hop an Air Asia flight up to Bangkok for £30 return I just a had a dig around about the economy fare and thought it would be one of these no food flights but it isnt. Even the Economy at £282 includes a meal.a dn the £319 fare includes a 4 course meal. http://www.thomson.co.uk/flight/search?flyingFrom[]=BHX|LGW|MAN&flyingTo[]=HKT:Phuket&depDate=2017-10-27&returnDate=2017-11-11&adults=1&children=0&infa
  16. Thai, A380' seats because of their running at a high capacity have taken a beating. Even last October when I went out on Thai it was obvious the seats were wearing very thin. Same with Eva (so I am told) high seat occupancy means seat foam degeneration which means you will soon feel the aluminium base of the seat on your bum. You pays your money......................................
  17. I love Boeing's solution to their Dreamliner exploding Batteries problem. Put it in a stronger box so when it explodes it doesnt set the plane alight. Priceless !!
  18. That looked realy attractive to me untill you mentioned the Dreamliner ! Not for me thanks
  19. Now you didnt hear this from me as I didnt hear it from someone at Thai but. TG fares wont drop in the near future. Why? Because as I surmised previously, TG are really raking it in transporting food to Qatar so any empty seats just means more cargo weight. Its a win win for Thai
  20. I would suggest that, for someone who has never been to Pattaya that any time is a good time !
  21. The inflight BA service was superb I wasnt that thrilled with the service on the Air France Concorde, but for the seating you didnt realy want a window seat as the inside of Concorde was very tiny. When that afterburner kicked in you certainly felt it.
  22. Thats one plane I want to go on before I pop my clogs. Ive been on many types of plane from DC3's to a Beechcraft Staggerwing to Concorde several times.
  23. Bollocks. Bangkok is and always was a far better and more interesting place than Pattaya.ever was.
