airfares go up in April and stay higher intially throughout the summer...look at airfares in March and you will see much lower rates, and some great deals if you're willing to sacrifice 5,000 or 10,000 FFM... try 610 plus tax roundtrip LAX-BKK when you purchase with 10,000 FFM...month of March...

To second Pauly77's opinion/run down. Stayed there a two weeks ago and I can recommend. 24 hour security and they take the girl's ID. Complimentary tea/coffee/dessert every day from 2:00 PM - 5:00 PM. Snooker table in the tea room; conventional billiard table in lobby along with big screen TV and some comfy seats for viewing. Superior room (850 baht low season) has kettle with tea, coffee, creamer and sugar and 2 cups. Very handy. Good air-con unit. In-room, bolted down, 6-digit electronic safe. Cable TV could be a bit better, IMHO. (I am not in the room to watch TV. though.) Full bathroom and decent amenities. Extra towels a snap; just ask the maid. If you're picky, Big C hypermart has small size bottles of every toiletry imaginable. I have the maid empty the mini-bar, go to Big C and stock up on juice, fruit, water etc. Never a problem from staff with this request. Actually, never a problem with staff, period. Also, you can use the pool at The Sabai Lodge or the Sabai Resort if you want to do so. I actually request an interior room, though. I tend to turn in about Midnight - 1:00 AM and the interior rooms are more quiet. I have stayed here numerous times since 2004. This has been my experience every time. Give it a try, I say.

Good luck; I had my first extensive venture into Indian food in KL and Singapore last month and really liked it. The vegetarian dishes were eye-opening.

Airbus and Boeing products running behind schedule
The Mook replied to BigDUSA's topic in Idle Chit Chat
Cheshire: The announcement may have been made this week, but there was an article about a parts bottleneck/delay in the WSJ months ago. If you're going to criticise, you may want to ask before contradicting. Threads about the airline industry started out as a decent addition to the board; it's a few contributors in the USA vs. Europe shit show that have degraded it. MOOK -
Airbus and Boeing products running behind schedule
The Mook replied to BigDUSA's topic in Idle Chit Chat
This "NEW" news regarding parts (fasteners) is months old. Who gives a shit if they're 1 1/2 months late; it's not like its years. -

I understand that miscommunications can occur, but when an employee lays a hand on a customer, it's taken to another level. No bar deserves to be underpaid, but there's a right way and a wrong way to handle it. Hitting a customer doesn't seem to be the right way to me, especially when the customer is a regular. Good businesses take their best care of their best customers. At this point we've only heard 1 side of the story, and I think it is reasonable to hear a response from the business before condemning the place. It's a great venue.

How often is Patts above 35 degrees Celsius??
The Mook replied to too_mutt's topic in General Discussion about Pattaya
If you're trying to avoid heat and humidity, you will have to avoid Pattaya. -
Here is how I have done it in the past and this method has served me well. I have a suit made in my home country by a professional who specializes in custom suits. Then I take that suit with me to LOS. I choose the suit fabric, the lining and the buttons at a local tailor in BKK or PTY. I have them make an EXACT REPLICA of the suit I have brought with me. Tell them to change NOTHING. Just make a copy.

EVA just cut prices on the LAX-BKK route. You can now buy a RT for 680 plus tax and 7500 miles. It's all about supply and demand. Demand drops and prices follow. It is not rocket science.

MK Gold is a high end version of MK Restaurant located in the Siam Paragon Mall in BKK. It's the mall with high end designer clothes, also electronics, and high end car dealers, too. I'm on a high end roll in the post, too.
-
Crazedchef: I think you are referring to MK Restaurant. If you are ever in BKK try MK Gold in Siam Paragon on Sukhumvit Road. This mall has the biggest food court I've seen yet.

Airbus and Boeing products running behind schedule

for Boeing it's all about the nuts and bolts -
Keep 'em coming boys, There's no such thing as knowing too many good restaurants. By the way, I like both Zen and Fuji for sushi. The sushi sets provide good value.

I'll throw a vote in for the outdoor, covered restaurant area in the Alcazar parking lot. Lots of different, well-cooked food to be had at reasonable prices out of the sun and with ceiling fans.

Price point does not matter. Your choice can be a sidewalk stall or a 5 star/hotel restaurant. It's all about how much value you get for your Baht.

TQ2 Farewell to Raylene Party
The Mook replied to rightsaid's topic in Bars/Gogos/Business Owners' Forum
I'm not a legend, but then again you never said I was and I'm not throwing a going away bash for myself. also from OP: "Chris's (aka Raylene) epic stay in Pattaya is soon to come to an end.; Much to the angst of many a bar girl and board member." That's why I asked the question. He didn't take it personally; Why did you? -
TQ2 Farewell to Raylene Party
The Mook replied to rightsaid's topic in Bars/Gogos/Business Owners' Forum
Seems weird to me that the guy has to throw a party for himself if he's so well liked and a Pattaya legend. quote from OP : "To comemorate the occassion he has kindly agreed to host a farewell party in TQ2 on Sunday 27th May 2007." -
She's cute, but not available.

NOT FUNNY.

24 hour bus from BKK Airport to Pattaya???
The Mook replied to ottoparts's topic in General Discussion about Pattaya
there are buses that make the journey... http://www.bangkokairportonline.com/node/56 this link gives the # of the bus that travels to pattaya, but not the schedule http://www.transport.co.th/ if you can read Thai, this should give you the schedule... in English, but I cannot find a BKK airport to Pattaya route...hunt and peck is all I can offer http://www.transport.co.th/Eng/CENTER1.htm -
This place is a bit more expensive than others, but you do get what you pay for. Bigger rooms, king size bed, sitting area with quality sofa, and a good breakfast buffet. I enjoyed it and would stay again. Only possible improvement: fans in the exercise rooms and not a small AC unit.

Stayed in the Swiss Grottino November 2006. Liked it a lot. Quiet, well-appointed rooms, close to Skytrain, Metro and The Cowboy. 24 hour security, in-room safe, too. B'fast tasty, particularly the Thai Omelette. Try the Thai breakfast soup, too.

HERE IS A Nice Futures fund that can make you a Great Yeild
The Mook replied to mrstein's topic in Expat Issues
Only a total blowhard in the financial buisiness would quote his own salary out loud. You are so full of shit it's beyond belief. The words at the end of this post are the last response you'll ever get out of me. Now fuck off.
