  1. I'll be flying to BKK in October on a 777-300 ER and I'll take notes on the flight. Personally, I am hoping the 777 will be superior. It has a much better in-flight entertainment pacakge, and as indicated by this thread's opening post, better seats. Hopefully it all adds up to a better flying experience. I'll do what I can to remain objective. I will also fly a 747-400 in November, so i can make a comparison.
  2. maybe they sell surplus equipment...that's how I bought my set of dumbells
  3. go to tony's gym on third road and inquire

  5. Wacmedia: I have no emotional, ancestral or nationalistic interest in Boeing over Airbus. I simply made an observation. This isn't an "us vs. them" issue to me and to many other contributors as well. Why can't we have some constructive criticism on the thread, and not this nationalistic poop? Please stop it. If you have a beef with BigD, settle it outside this thread. I'd appreciate it if you wouldn't paint all of us with the same brush. The if's are big, but there really hasn't been any major problem in the construction of the 787. That may or may not happen in the nect 18 months. Delays happen all the time in the manufacture of planes, it's unexpected delays and turning a deaf ear to customer's wishes that has plauged Airbus lately. No company is perfect. Boeing had major issues in the past half decade. They resloved many of them; kudos to them. The vast majority of comments here are about airplane manufacturers; why turn it into a "Europe vs. USA" debate? Mook
  6. The specs on the A350 look good. However, I think it might be a stretch to expect clients and shareholders to get excited for an extra 18 inches of width on the "wide body" when the first deliverey date is 6 years away (2012...WTF?). The 787 Dreamliner by Boeing seems to offer very close to same thing with a much more reasonable delivery time. If Boeing delivers their initial orders on time, and customer satisfaction is high, they appear to be very tough to beat. I think 1st delivery (787) is in 2008.
  7. so, when are you sending me my $500,000 USD?
  8. Not one fucking answer. Maybe the search engine will help.
  9. Bob, would you be kind enough to check the thread and answer the question I posed earlier? Mook
  10. Maybe they should start a new advertising campaign: "Sponsor a Bar Girl, and get bonus miles."
  11. There will a gradual exchange from DM to Suvarnabhumi. Passenger flights will be exchanged slowly. Cargo will lead the way. Small tests will occur for passenger departures and take-offs before they go "all out." Your airline will know before your flight. Call them.
  12. traded at what price??
  13. I always start out with the AC on, but turn it off right before falling asleep. Usually I'll sleep throught the night without any problem.
  14. A bit off topic. Has anyone heard if there will be a bus available to transport people from Suvarnabhumi Airport to Pattaya's bus station?
  15. Portions at your place seem to be pretty darn large. If I came in with a TG and wanted to split an entree or appetizer between us, would that be O.K.?
  16. I see your point, but I'd rather pay a bit extra for the cutting while hopefully getting a better deal on the rock.
  17. try The Netherlands, it's the international clearing house for diamonds
  18. Wow! That pushes the limits of good taste.
  19. Book it ASAP. It won't get cheaper.
  20. I've never been on an Air Asia flight that took off or landed on time. Closest I ever came was 20 minutes late. Also, 1 time I had a 5 1/2 hour delay. Not fun. Try Nok Air for better discount service.
  21. Give it to a dear relative or friend... Donate it to a non-profit organization and take the tax deduction... Sell it on e-bay and make a few bucks...
  22. Soi Unwise: I guess we will have to agree that we disagree.
  23. I don't think I'm missing the point. The 2 places I named are a less than 5 minute walk from the Nana. You can experience all the Nana Lobby and Golden Beer Bar and the infamous parking lot has to offer, then make your way to a more civilized room; what's wrong with that?
  24. It makes a difference. You can read a paper, get a bite to eat and have a drink or two. Lounges tend to be quiet places, with zero hustle and bustle. I've put notes in my travel book, etc. Your drink does not have to be an alcoholic beverage; coffee, water and soft drinks are available, too. Food tends to include small sandwiches and fresh fruit. This makes your overall trip experience much better. The longer the layover or the more time you have to kill, the bigger the effect.
  25. It's a dump. Try the Majestic Suites, or the Omni Tower.
