  1. It was 28 March 2007, England beat Andorra away 3:0.
  2. Thanx for the review and pics, Hammer.
  3. A refreshing angle, as ever - tnx.
  4. Just 1 of the freeware options: go to: http://www.irfanview.com download IrfanView, open it, click on File, click on the Batch Conversion/Rename field.
  5. pattayahappy, I warmly recommend that you apply for the full membership of this Forum - this post belongs exclusively to the realm of the Members Only Section, IMO.
  6. Skytrooper, it is not always about the length of someone's posts - impy mac quoted you without spinning anything and you could not answer (but tried to put your own spin on the matter, IMHO ). "Sorry seems to be the hardest word..."
  7. peder, try becoming a Member of this Board before the 25th - it is in your best interest, IMHO. Good luck to you (there is nothing else one can do for you...)
  8. I must admit it: the subject/member has definitely lost it: enemies all around him, waiting to be killed... Should I be worried? I believe that an apology from you, Skytrooper, to anyone who might have read this post of yours, is due.
  9. Skytrooper, now, that is a lie. Of course, you might check the meaning of the words "chum" and "to admit" in your M. Webster Dictionary and, subsequently, post a correction of your above quoted statement, along with some much needed apologies. A link to check, should you need a reminder : http://www.pattayatalk.com/forums/index.ph...30entry148919
  10. Rather than work on increasing your English comprehension, I suggest you concentrate on history and improving your character and reasoning ability. Many of the German and other Jews who walked into Nazi extermination camps were highly educated. Ignoring the small detail of vicious hoodlums (as you invariably do), having a "willingness to act in order to preserve their own and their fellow citizens' freedom" is of scant value if you're unarmed and helpless in the face of armed oppressors. I know you're not stupid, so I wish you'd cease ignoring reality solely to promote your statist political agenda (which is contemptuous of genuine human liberty). The Armenians had a "willingness to act," but that only benefited the small minority who disobeyed Turkish laws disarming them; "law abiding" Armenians are a footnote in history under "genocide victims." ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ... Skytrooper, I am sorry to notice that you are experiencing some form of, to put it mildly, "attention deficit", lately. I have written: "IMO, firearms are definitely not essential, around Europe nowadays, should the above be the case." In your next post, you came up with the examples of Nazi Germany mass-killing the Jews and Turkish slaughter of Armenians? Please, get well soon. -jump Sincerely Yours (chum? )
  11. Skytrooper, just saving the wisdom... Btw, this part definitely qualifies as hillarious: "Unlike your chum, Bazle, I’ve never posted a lie on this or any other Internet board and never refused to defend my posts with reason, facts, and civil language." RWB, I shall add my "2 lipas worth" on "what is it that keeps the people free(?)": 1st and foremost, proper education and awareness of what is happening in the country they live in, directly coupled with the willingness to act in order to preserve their own and their fellow citizens' freedom. IMO, firearms are definitely not essential, around Europe nowadays, should the above be the case. Cheers :D
  12. I thought so...
  13. Just saving the wealth of wit, reason and articulation contained in the above-quoted Skytrooper's post for the benefit of the future generations of members of this Forum...
  14. Fatboyfat, I guess you would claim that you have never heard of the Multiple Personality Disorder...
  15. Skytrooper, though rarely, sometimes you are a true source of inspiration - even though not in the above quoted, but the above positioned post of yours. Here it is: to anyone who might care (though I sincerely doubt that it goes beyond a single digit number ): To the best of my knowledge, Skytrooper refuses to engage in reasoned discourse since he lacks facts to support his political beliefs and his lamentable tendency to avoid the truth. He seemingly enjoys posting the "drive-by" insults like the one above. Or the one above that. Or... (freely paraphrased from Skytrooper's own text - credit given where credit was due ) For further reference, here is a link to a previous post of mine in this thread, containing some of the links which nicely illustrate Skytrooper's "ways": http://www.pattayatalk.com/forums/index.ph...30entry148928 Cheers, everyone :nod (yep, I do smile a lot )
  16. SunnyValentine, OK und ich drücke die Daumen für dich / euch (all the best to you). :D Hub, as you seem to be referring to a post of mine in the Members (Relationships...) Section from a week or so ago - I though it was clear to everyone who had read it that it was a tongue-in-cheek response to iono's tongue-in-cheek comment. Would you please re-read it and correct me if I was unclear there and then, within the given context of that thread? Regarding my living in (as opposed to: visiting) the countries other than the one I was born in: well, to make it very short - I had to adapt to each and every one of those. In the process(es) I learned about those respective cultures and learned how to behave in a respectful manner, as much as possible in the time I spent there. Importantly, I did not learn it only by watching TV, reading books, articles on the Internet or talking to people (preferrably in Croatian ), but also by learning the respective language(s), observing the way that people live and doing everything that a citizen of that country would be doing (working/studying included) - partial assimilation might be the correct idiom. Before you ask: no, I was not born with that proverbial "silver tea-spoon" in my mouth. Anyway, to finish this off (if still possible ): if a tradition (any tradition, the local one where I may live included) is being used as an excuse for a blatant rip-off and I feel like pointing out the realistic probability of this being the case, with no notion of a personal attack on the other party(-ies) in the discourse as was the case in this thread, I shall do it again. Frog, "babe I made no attempts to flame your posts." obviously not true, but as I said, it does not really matter - you did not hurt my feelings. La vida estas nada sin amor. (guess that everyone got this one - hope that I got it right) Sin obscuridad, luz decaeria. (should mean: without the darkness, the light would fade) Being romantic does not need to exclude the usage of one's brain, IMHO.
  17. Hub, you wrote: "Whose idea of civilization exactly? Is only your western idea of that concept valid?" Well, as I am a Croatian citizen, currently living in Croatia, and having lived my life (for a year or longer) in 4 other European (though not necessarily "western") countries, your argumentation is a bit lost on me. Btw, I have no problems with the strength of your responses, though I do struggle a bit with the quality of your argumentation. As the box I am "thinking inside of" (whichever that might be), is seemingly pretty big, I shall add these few questions: What does the mutual respect mean in a case of the conflicting demands by the cultures of partners (or partners-to-be)? Who should yield/surrender what? Who can provide a good reason why would a Thai custom be more improtant than an American, Dutch, Austrian or a Croatian one? Cheers Frog, english is my 3rd language, though I did understand your blunt attempts at flaming me / my posts. It made me smile - I guess that you were unsuccessful. Tweety, I hope that it works out for you and your future wife, despite my doubts regarding (some of) the motivation of her parents.
Prost (an honest apology to the membership for the above, non-English, scribblings of mine - won't happen again very soon )
  19. VikingInOz, seems like the worthy (and supernaturally powerful, though he shall deny it ) Skytrooper has decided to predestine us to become chums, some time in the future. So, in its name: živjeli and skoll
  20. Skytrooper, it seems to me that you are avoiding to "walk the walk" that you so eloquently preach to everyone else on this Forum - show some responsibility and apologise for your rude and false accusations. Here are some of the links showcasing your ways with the facts, the truth and illustrating your disingenuousness / insincerity, including the "forgery case": http://www.pattayatalk.com/forums/index.ph...=0entry123938 http://www.pattayatalk.com/forums/index.ph...30entry124426 http://www.pattayatalk.com/forums/index.ph...60entry138286 Recent one: http://www.pattayatalk.com/forums/index.ph...=0entry141850 Also, your and my previous posts in this thread. I guess that it must be very difficult for you to be confronted with the hard facts like this... Cheers, everybody
  21. Dear Skytrooper, I am deeply hurt by your rude and baseless accusations. :crying I expect a full apology from you, as soon as you will have read this. Or should I start posting links to some of your less-than-coherent and, indeed, tragically off-the-point posts, like the one quoted above? Btw, I have also noticed that you are having a bit of trouble with the proper use of tenses, as of lately, especially the Present Perfect - now, that would be perfectly understandable if you were a foreigner, whose mother tongue contains no comparable tense (Croatian, German,...), but as the facts that you have provided indicate otherwise, I admit to being profoundly surprised. Before you ask for examples: please check among my quotes of your posts, as I do not intend to further this (grammar) topic.
  22. Cool and interesting story cowboy - thanks for sharing it. I dare guess that the Italian guy has found that elusive source of blonde Thai girls (including his fiance)?
  23. I never gave the definition of "liberty" you falsely attributed to me. I understand you still haven't got a handle on the English language yet, but I wish you'd cease prevaricating and fabricating when you find yourself in an untenable position. Liberty and freedom are not synonymous. Liberty is a "political condition," just as I stated, not simply a "freedom of movement" as you allege. Here's your English word to study today: Disingenuous. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ... Skytrooper, I have never claimed that you had ever posted any definition of "liberty" (why did you use quotation marks there?) at all. I merely wrote: "I am sorry that you see it so exclusively. IMHO, liberty is not defined as only the simple freedom to move wherever you wish to. Or were you absolutely forbidden to think and/or speak while being imprisoned?" Why have you falsely accused me of falsely attributing definitions to you? :crying
  24. SunnyValentine, as you know, I am very far removed from being Mr. America - probably to the point of being considered Mr. anti-America by some of this Forum's members. The dictionary example was mainly directed at our US member Hub, as a reminder of the meaning of the word dowry in his language (as it is just the 3rd languge for me...). With this: "Dowries are very often a reality here, sometimes even for a good reason. All further details on if, how much and the like are to be based on a thorough analysis of the individual situation." I agree. My point was: in Tweety's very individual situation, based on the few bits of information that he provided, I'd consider myself being unduly played and would reconsider my position and obligations. Furthermore, I do not dispute the possibility of a successful cross-cultural relationship/marriage - I only advise putting a lot of extra effort and not forgetting one's basic values in the process. Servus Frog, interesting. If I managed to understand you right: one is either supportive towards other members' 'course of life', regardless of one's true opinion or one patronizes?
  25. cowboy, in your example, the italian guy is getting the surplus, not-really-earned-or-deserved cash in advance in order to be able to provide a good show while, in effect, paying it back. This means that, effectively, he is not paying for his wife. What bothers me in Tweety's case is that he is really going to pay for his wife and it is not all only about the 'face' / ancient local customs. Btw, I believe that 1 Ferrari in Thailand equals approximately 3 in Italy or 2 in Croatia - ouch. Cheers
