Trvlr, thanks for the info - I'll keep working on my cheapo-air-fare... Emil, from my euro-perspective, it looks like this: normal fare VIE or MUC to BKK runs at around 800 EUR (tax incl.). I'd need about 5 trips to get 1 free. Inner-European flights, on the other hand, bring very few miles. Consequently, I always opt for the cheapest option (promotions, last-minute etc.). It seems like the incentives to be a loyal customer are far higher in the USA than around here - I am starting to be a bit envious.

Trvlr, nope, that was not intended offensively - if you were to search this section 5-10 months back, you'd probably be able to guess which 2 guys' 'exchanges' I have had in mind. Anyway, it doesn't really matter... Haven't been to Cuba, yet, but some of my friends were. Everybody told me that I should go there ASAP, if possible before Castro dies... Seriously, they all liked the country (although poverty is rampant), the people and the atmosphere. As the last-minute packages to Cuba tend to be pretty cheap at the moment, it is strong 2nd on the priority list for my upcoming vacation (Thailand being the 1st ). I live in the city of Zagreb in Croatia, Europe (Dubrovnik could ring a bell ). When I wish to have cheap long-distance flights I have to do it from either Austria (Vienna) or Germany (Munich is just over 400 km away) as Zagreb rarely gets any promotions. Not to forget: Budapest might be my 3rd option. I use the German-speaking sites like www.ltur.com, www.travelocity.de or www.restplatzboerse.at in order to get my data on the competetively priced flights. Actually it is still a good deal. You don't get AA fequent flyer miles but you do get Cathay Pacific freq flyer miles (www.asiamiles.com). I called and checked . I wonder who these 2 guys might have been in their previous 'lives'?

I saw it like this: the Greeks had/showed, by far, the most team spirit (except for the Latvians, maybe, but they are still too weak). Never, even for a split-second, did any of them hesitate when it was necessary to help out a team-mate. They ran until they dropped (but they didn't). I agree with your observations, Sved, as well. Furthermore, they had clearly won the QF, SF and the final game - no penalties shoot-outs. They did play defensively, but they scored in every game. This, IMO, simply shows that strong will and discipline, paired with perfect organisation (Rehhagel had a vision ) go a loooong way...

Sved, thanks for the compliments about Croatia's basketball, but we were really good only during the 1st half of the 90's, as we won the silver medal on the 1992 Barcelona Olypics, losing to the legendary US basketball Dream Team 1 in the finals. We were playing against a single basketball team in history boasting Michael Jordan, Magic Johnson, Scottie Pippen, Charles Barkley, David Robinson, Patrick Ewing and 6 other top players. Managed to keep their pace for about a 1/3rd of the game, even took the lead after 13 minutes , but they were just a bit too overwhelming. As of now, Serbia and Montenegro (it is 1 country ) are the basketball world champions (the US Dream Team 4 didn't manage to win any medal at all) and the upcoming Athens Olympics are going to be very interesting... As for the quality of the US players of football: it is amazing that their national side was 9th in the 1994 World Cup and 6th in the 2002, considering that they don't sport any proper home league. I believe they thrashed Portugal 2 years ago, beat Mexico in the 1/8th finals and narrowly lost to Germany in the QF. Tonight Portugal played impressively until they decided to call it a night, 25 minutes before the end. Solely for this reason, they've deserved to lose this game, IMO. As for Holland, Advocaat has proven himself to be a complete idiot - even Brazil would have lost with such tactics. Portuguese must be praying for another upset by the Greeks, tomorrow night...
