  1. This became a really funny thread - I am hooked... 1luv
  2. From UEFA.com: Liechtenstein reach fresh landmark Wednesday, 13 October 2004 Just four days after their dramatic comeback for a 2-2 draw with Portugal gave Liechtenstein their first FIFA World Cup point, the Alpine nation created another milestone as they triumphed away from home for the first time since entering international football. It has been a tremendous week for Liechtenstein Record books rewritten Since that first trip, to Northern Ireland in 1994 - a 4-1 defeat - Liechtenstein's 33 official internationals on foreign soil had yielded 32 defeats and just one dra

  4. Seems like real-life is destined to become a 3rd class TV-entertainment in our post-industrial societies... Connolly is going to have to learn it the hard way- this is going to cost him some serious money regarding his future show-contracts.
  5. I like the traditional baht buses and want them to stay in service... Let's see how this turns out. It could happen, as a consequence, that the overall public transport situation in Pattaya indeed improves, as compared to the status quo.
  6. AIS is one of the mobile phone network (gsm) operators in Thailand. Try this link: http://www.ais900.com or, if it won't load, this: http://www.ais900.com/thai/intro_blue_green.htm Other GSM-providers in Thailand: http://www.orange.co.th/english/index.jsp http://www.dtac.co.th/ Useful link page: http://www.nist.ac.th/bangkok/bangkok.html Shinawatra Corporation (some interesting news in there): http://www.shinawatra.com/
  7. Having a Lao girlfriend is strictly prohibited for foreigners in Laos and this rule/law is really enforced - take care.
  8. Zizou, PSV Eindhoven has been a club on the par with Ajax in the Dutch league during the last 20+ years - I don't see them struggling in any league (except for the Serie A, but everyone is struggling there, anyway ). As for Rosenborg: well, they are like a family, the majority of the players has been playing together for ages, they always show a great morale and they never give up on a game - I don't see them struggling anywhere, if it was possible to maintain their spirit in a different place/country. To the topic: Arsenal is a great team, but not of a tie-breaker strength-type
  9. I guess a bit more than a week ago.
  10. A safe at the Reception Desk is more important and safer , IMHO.
  11. leemo, I'll join forces with cybers1b and urge you (and anyone who cares reading this) strongly to start using either Mozilla Firefox (I believe current version is 0.9.0.3) or the free version of Opera (7.5). Forget about the IE: if the MS for once does as announced and makes it at least reasonably secure, it won't happen during the next 12 months. Trouble with the IE is that it takes the control away from you and hands it over to the Internet, in a way. Furthermore, as its code grew bigger through the years, it got full of programming mistakes which allow outside access to your PC's
  12. Exactly. Moreover, for the sake of a more effective presentation, the multiples of 9 which can not become the result of the quoted calculation, 90 and 99, are the ones drawing your attention the most, 99 being positioned in the uppermost left corner... The true power of presentation and suggestion well illustrated, IMO.
  13. Swiss is acceptable, the other 2 I haven't tried, but I'd make my choice entirely based on the total duration of the flight(s) - the shorter, the better.
  14. Using the 50:50 help option could also prove useful...
  15. A monsoon shower here and there, but it doesn't really matter, does it?
  16. Because you haven't been warned, yet, clubman. Read this (Forum Rules) and you'll know it all: http://www.pattayatalk.com/forums/index.php?act=boardrules
  17. Sa-teef, I have just suggested an implementation of what I have seen in some of the [smaller] coastal towns in Croatia (and we do have a lot of coast ) - no idea how exactly these additional seweage systems were constructed, but they were put in place in some of those towns just a few years back and they didn't cost a fortune. OTOH, we don't have monsoon rains and Pattaya is about an order of magnitude bigger than the towns in question...
  18. I've played golf exactly once in my life, so no knowledge on the subject, really - still, from my experience with the other sports which need a tool that I've indulged in: yes, take a few lessons and ask your coach for an advice on clubs afterwards. Then, after you've bought the clubs, take a few more lessons - this should work wonders (it did for my tennis game ). Cheers
  19. Cool info - thanx for posting it, BigDUSA. I believe that a simplified, parallel water-drainage system, just bellow the street level, with a few pipes that would bring it straight into the sea, would suffice and it would also be a lot less expensive...
  20. amphora, I wouldn't worry too much - everyone is on the verge of bankrupcy in Italy, all the time, and nothing really ever happens - it is all just a part of the image. Very much unlike the Swissair story, though, but they are/were, well, Swiss... Fly over and enjoy.
  21. ...and I am waiting to see if your 'Group' changes from 'Registered' to 'Members'...
  22. I don't miss it and I am not a subscriber of the on-line edition. Agree that he lost his plot a bit, lately (last 5 years or so?). Yes, I am afraid that Stickman and the Forums are overwhelming competition for him, nowadays...
  23. A bit of restraint and it could all work out - hopefully... So, am I stupid if I pay 10 Baht for the Baht bus from Soi 3 to Soi 8, or what?
  24. Don't know, but you could try sending a message (PM) to the Forum Administrator: PattayaPete.
