  1. Hi, Wenger wanted Mata but couldn't compete with Chelsea. Chelsea and Man City are run by people who are throwing money at their clubs. Arsenal are being run as a business which is the way football should be run. Who would have thought such a great club such as Rangers would be playing in the lower leagues now ? Fans just want success at any cost but it can't last. Look at Portsmouth.
  2. Hi, I fancied Mount Athos but didn't have a bet when I saw who was riding it. Never had any luck when Ryan Moore rides. http://www.independent.ie/sport/horse-racing/aussies-keep-cup-at-home-as-irishbreds-dominate-3286077.html Aussies keep Cup at home as Irish-breds dominate EUROPE'S raiders were out of luck in the Melbourne Cup, but there was some consolation for the breeding industry here as the first seven home were all Irish-bred. Green Moon -- formerly trained by Harry Dunlop in England, but now with Robert Hickmott -- and jockey Brett Prebble ensured Australia's greatest racing prize remained on home soil for the first time in three years. A length behind the son of Montjeu in second was another export in Fiorente, on his first run since moving from Michael Stoute to Gai Waterhouse, while Colm O'Donoghue came home in third aboard Marco Botti's Jakkalberry. From there on, though, it was a case of varying degrees of hard-luck stories, with the previous two French winners, Dunaden and Americain, failing to figure in a race run at a very slow pace. Luca Cumani's Mount Athos charged home from a hopeless position to finish fifth as the raiders were all undone by Glencadam Gold slowing things down from the front.
  3. Hi, I think Pulis is a championship manager. Him and O'Neill should be able to buy better footballers with their Premier budgets.Look at Swansea, they play attractive football and are hard to beat with it.
  4. Hi, I think Wengers greatest achievement has been the building of the new stadium. It will help sustain Arsenal for many years to come. Liverpool and Tottenham are trying to do the same but it's hard in this business environment.
  5. Hi, I don't know how Everton failed to win at the weekend. Fellaini was great and the team is playing very well. My only doubt about them is can they maintain it all season? They had an unusual good start and may run out of steam in the second half of the season, like Charlton used to do. Arsenal looked very poor against Man Utd and Mancini seems to be pissed off at Man City so there could be spots to play for. I'm delighted Wigan beat Spurs and that Suarez had such a great game. One of the best players at the moment no doubt.
  6. Hi, Like the 2 dodgy penalties Howard Webb gave them last year when they were 3-0 down ?
  7. Hi, Spot a pattern ?
  8. Hi, The Kings Road boys were robbed. What more can you say ?
  9. Hi, Arsenal and Man City fail to impress. Now it's Chelsea and Man Utd's turn to turn on the style. Hope it's a good game. The Merseyside derby should tell us something as well.
  10. Hi, http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/othersports/cycling/lancearmstrong/9626832/UCI-chief-condemns-Lance-Armstrongs-whistle-blowers-Floyd-Landis-and-Tyler-Hamilton-as-scumbags.html UCI chief condemns Lance Armstrong's whistle-blowers Floyd Landis and Tyler Hamilton as ‘scumbags’ The head of cycling’s governing body on Monday described the whistle-blowers who exposed Lance Armstrong’s doping as “scumbags”.
  11. Hi, A few of us got it right. Many got it wrong.
  12. Hi, Well done to USADA for sorting it out. McQuaid and ICU didn't really want to clean up cycling IMO. The problem these days is that so much money is at stake. Armstrong created a lot of coverage and money for cycling so advertisers, media, and everyone else with a vested interest were prepared to look the other way. A few journalists and cyclists tried to tell the truth but were sidelined.
  13. Hi, Champions of Europe, Chelsea, look a good bet to be Champions of England after a great performance against Spurs. Man City show great character to beat an in form West Brom with 10 men for most of the game.Gives those of us who backed them hope. Man Utd look poor in defence but good in attack as they beat Stoke. I think their defence will cost them the title this year. Liverpool win their first home league game under Rodgers. Will they improve and start a run up the table ? Everton can go fourth with a win against QPR today. I'm hoping for a great game between Sunderland and Newcastle today. Not sure which way it will go but will have a small bet of some type on it for entertainment.
  14. Hi, IOC and FIFA are dens of corruption so he should do well. First time I heard him(Armstrong) admitting to the doctors of his drug use when he was told he had cancer.
  15. Hi, On the other hand McQuaid and Kelly were 2 of Armstrong's biggest supporters. Link to Radio 5 programme. http://www.bbc.co.uk...gs_Dirty_Truth/
  16. Hi, Paul Kimmage is always worth listening to on this subject. http://www.independent.ie/sport/other-sports/paul-kimmage-truth-comes-dropping-slow-3258595.html Paul Kimmage: Truth comes dropping slow It's taken a while for some but opinions on Lance Armstrong have altered greatly, writes Paul Kimmage When it comes to the issue of doping and cycling, Sean Kelly has never been forward in looking backward. For 18 years now, since his last professional race, his attitude has always been easy to interpret: Don't ask me to condemn the sins of others. Three months ago, in a lengthy interview with L'équipe during the most recent Tour de France, even those who know, and work with him closely, despaired when, despite a tidal wave of evidence, he expressed his continued belief in Lance Armstrong. But it was just Kelly being Kelly -- nothing if not consistent. So it was astonishing to hear him break the habit of a lifetime last Thursday on Morning Ireland when he was rolled out behind Tyler Hamilton on the 8.35 sports bulletin. And even more astonishing that he had changed his tune on Lance: "Well, over the last number of months we were waiting for this and it was pretty much expected," he announced.
  17. Hi, Man United show up the limitations of the Toon. Disappointed with their performance but at least the bookies took a big hit. Arsenal win a tough away fixture at West Ham and they look better than i had hoped. Chelsea will be hard to beat this year if they maintain present level of form.
  18. Hi, Good win for Man City against a tough and hard to beat Sunderland. We will know tomorrow if Newcastle can make the top 4. I'm sure all boardies wish Liverpool well after their good win last weekend.
  19. Hi, Who knows ? Scholes still playing well. I like to see the small guys like him and Xavi and Iniesta running a game. Skill is always more attactive to look at than strength.
  20. Hi, Great fightback by Europe after taking a beating on the first 2 days. I still find it hard to believe they turned it round. Poulter showed great bottle, a gooner as well.
  21. Hi, Man City overcome a strange penalty decision by the same ref who awarded Man Utd a strange penalty last week. Arsenal and Man Utd both play well but lose. Everton have another good win and are in with a top 4 shout. Chelsea seem to be the best team in defence and that may win them this years title. Still, they started well last year and fell away.
  22. Hi, I meant compulsory for everybody.
  23. Hi, The way things are going, people will have them next.
  24. Hi, Has the Bigfella joined you in the South yet ?
