Hi, Kenny last week, AVB this week. If I'm bonkers I'm in good company. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/teams/chelsea/8777912/Chelsea-coach-Andre-Villas-Boas-still-riled-by-sense-of-injustice-felt-over-officials-poor-show-at-Old-Trafford.html Chelsea coach Andre Villas-Boas still riled by sense of injustice felt over officials' poor show at Old Trafford

Hi, CT and myself were talking about English managers in this case. AF proved himself at Aberdeen, great achievement no doubt.
-
Hi, Don't let the buggers get you down. I'm sure there are lots of people who appreciate your contribution.
-
Hi, Ta. I've edited the post. My favourite is Clough because he was successful at two clubs who were not too fashionable.
-
Hi, Haven't seen you posting much recently.

Hi, Some very strange decisions by the officials, as usual, at Old Trafford as Man Utd beat Chelsea in an entertaining game. Man City slip up at the Cottage but stay in touch. Sunderland have a much needed win against an out of form Stoke. Tottenham beat Liverpool and Steve Keane has a much needed win against Arsenal.

Hi, And what about that penalty ?

Hi, The Scottish must have some qualities which make them good football managers. Shankley, Stein, Busby etc.. all great managers. I think the mistake chairmen make today is expecting great players like Robson, Adams, Keane etc. to become good managers. It's usually the lesser players or even non players like Mourinho who make it. They are pushing for the "Rooney rule" in England to try promote black managers now. I think people like Ince and Barnes have put back the case for black managers a generation. Chris Hughton and Powell may redress the balance. I'm sure there are some great black managers out there but they never get a chance. Some hopeless Scots, like Souness, get a chance because they are Scottish.

Hi, Good post. We want good sportsmen/women. The colour of their skin is irrelevant.

Hi, As long as the black man is in the White House there is hope for America.

Hi, Dodgy refs aren't confined to Scotland. http://www.wsc.co.uk/content/view/4412/29/

Hi, I like black ladies but find the Williams sisters are an obnoxious duo.

Hi, Seems a fight between Manchester clubs unless Chelsea raise their game. King Kenny is agreeing with wac. http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2011/sep/11/liverpool-kenny-dalglish-strain

Hi, Brilliant weekend for Manchester as City and United hammer their North London opponents. It looks like only Chelsea and Liverpool have any chance against them. Can King Kenny or AVB stop the Manchester teams ?

Hi, A bit behind BigD's schedule. -
Hi, Joe is right.

Hi, Man City stand on top of the Premiership after a good away win. Mancini has to teach his team to defend while still playing attacking football. Man Utd field a young team who get their usual 3 points against Spurs. Good performance. Chelsea seem the only London team able to challenge Liverpool and the Manchester teams this year.
-
Hi, Penalties aren't the whole story by any means. How often do you think players like Vidic and Scholes would get booked or sent off if they played for other teams ? I don't hate Man Utd BTW. I back them quite often and they have had some of the best teams and players in the history of the league.
-
Hi, Good post and true. Barcelona are the Man Utd of European football.

Hi, I have my own opinions and others are entitled to theirs. Stats can't prove anything in this case anyway. It's not how many decisons are awarded as whenthey are awarded is the critical thing. Teams may get a penalty when they are 4-0 down which makes no effect on the end result. For instance Man Utd were in trouble against Aston Villa a few seasons ago and a few very questionable decisons went their way. It happens so often that is not even worth arguing about.

Hi, I think the whole culture of football in England changed with the dawn of the Premiership/Sky era. Money and agents became the dominant forces. Other teams can win sometimes but how many times do Man Utd get dodgy decisions/penalties when they look in trouble in a game ? I reckon for another team to win the Prem they need to be about 10 points better than Man Utd. The era when Clough could go to Derby or Nottingham and win the big one are over. Who wants Wigan to win it when they have no global following? Money and International sales of the "product" are the main drivers.

Hi, Murdoch and his minions have been accused of much worse in the last few months despite a cover up. Have you been reading any papers or watching TV ?
-
Hi, Rooney and Gerrard dive as much as anybody but they are English. If Man Utd had been playing Stoke there would have been penalties for holding in the area. Sky would show it again and again and say "yes penalty Rooney was being held in the area".
