Jacko, No, the critical wording is "A foreigner who has entered the kingdom four (4) consecutive times on 15 days tourist exemption stamps ... " What I understand from Immigration at Dannok is that consecutive means it applies to "back to back" exits/entries. I will be going down to KL during the next week or so and I'll get a copy of whatever notice they are actually displaying at the border. If the push came to the shove, I'd simply get a 1 year multi-entry from Penang to visit friends.

Apart from the moto-sais, the market looks no different from thousands of similar shopping experiences that can be found in LOS.

If your priorities are to own a house, have zero visa hassles, have access to cheap booze and cheap Thai/Chinese/Vietnamese women - it's a good choice, particularly for those who are linguistically challenged.

West East are competitive with several other travel agents. Nothing more, nothing less.

The 15 day stamp doesn't differentiate between Malaysians and anyone else. There is an agreement within ASEAN that they don't need a visa. But, in respect of Malaysia/Thailand neither do you, if you're a Brit. Both countries belong to the list of 57 countries whose citizens are given a 30 (by air) or 15 day (by land) visa exception. I've already checked at Dannok and their interpretation is 4 consecutive 15 day stays. If you want over 60 days, get a tourist visa from the Thai Consulate in Penang. You don't even have to go to Penang, plenty of agencies at the border will do the leg-work for you.

Jacko, We've got crossed wires here. If you live on the Malaysian side of the border, you don't need a Thai visa, the Malaysians give you a 10-year multi-entry and you can nip over into LOS at your heart's content, either by road or by rail. Hundreds, if not thousands, of Malaysians do it every day.

Nah ......... although, you did.

Where do you think the workers in McThai deposit the results of their nasal excavations? No wonder they smile when they tell you to "Have a nice day!". They know that you can't taste the difference.
-
No. If you live on the Malaysian side of the border it's a 10 year multi-entry visa and no problem owning a house. A 15-20 minute drive takes you to the Thai border from Alor Star. It only becomes an issue if you want to visit Thailand for more than 15 days at a stretch and then you just pick up a tourist visa in Penang. Or, until the Thais change the rules again.
-
I'm of the same opinion. Move over the border to Malaysia and do away with the home ownership and visa issues. A 15-20 minute drive from Alor Star and you're in Thailand whenever it takes your fancy.

It's nothing to do with A v B. Unlike any other major operator, Emirates chooses to configure its 777s in a high density seat fit, i.e. 10 abreast, as opposed to 9 abreast with other airlines. However, it fits out its A330s in a standard configuration (2-4-2) in line with its direct competitors.

To be fair, there are a few places in BKK that do some decent replicas.

I'd be more worried about why certain members were downloading my pics in the first place.

What does "partners with Thai Air" mean, other than displaying their logo on your website? Thai Airways doesn't list West East Travel as one of its partners.

Any idea what the latest news is with Qatar? I saw the April figures and can't really see how QR can continue at MAN and I don't want to be left holding a load of airmiles that will be of no use to me.
-
That pretty much sums it up. It's on the cards that Singapore Airlines will be adopting a similar operation and dropping its Manchester service in the not too distant future.

When you actually process the booking it comes out as 454 quid ex-MAN and 407 quid ex-LHR.

I came across this article online ....... not much use to me but may be of use to someone, particularly in the high season. "British Airways Travel shops are one of the very few players still left in the air courier market. They sell discounted tickets from Heathrow only to two destinations - Tokyo and Bangkok. They have two flights a day to Tokyo and one a day to Bangkok, and the maximum stay is three weeks. You pick up the package, usually some documents, from their desk at the airport. Just call them on 0870-320-0301, Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm and tell them when and where you want to go. British Airways Travel Shop offer return flights to Bangkok for £350 from mid-January and to Tokyo for £300. They want you to stay for two weeks or less, but for £55 you can stay for a third week. That’s still up to a 50% saving on flights booked using eBookers for the same time slots"

The new allowances came into effect on 4 May. In addition to the revised allowances ........ Gold and Silver Members of Skywards, Emirates frequent flyer programme are entitled to an additional baggage allowance of 16 kgs over their ticketed allowance for Gold members and additional 12 kgs for Silver. Codeshare passengers travelling on Emirates operated flights are also eligible for the revised free baggage allowances.

Why? He only had 500 Baht kept back for the electric bill.

jacko, Qatar are under 72k Baht until the end of June ....... or 1,300 quid at 55 THB/GBP. They haven't set up their offers beyond the end of June but they will do eventually. I'm in the same boat as you ....... I want to go back to MAN in Sep/Oct using Qatar before they drop the route completely. I'll drop you a PM when I hear that Sep/Oct offers have been loaded to the system. You don't know anyone who has 50k miles they want to get rid of, do you? I also have a XL seat booked with Air Asia in Oct but I want to change the date on that ticket once they come up with dates/prices for the flatbeds they are putting in next year.
