Pattaya - the end is nigh!
CheshireTom replied to CheshireTom's topic in General Discussion about Pattaya
You'll most likely be disappointed - the season runs from early March until early November (ish). The best site that I've found to follow the fixtures is here. There are options to view in German or English. -
Pattaya United that is. Apparently, the fat lady is booked to sing around 7.45 p.m. on Saturday.

I agree. He would be a good buy in the January window for any team.

They should have been aware of Hernandez ... it isn't the first header he's scored against them.

What has Delta's business class got to do with Emirates first class product? For some folk it probably does appear outrageous. For others, that's obviously not the case - they're the ones the airlines are interested in.

He should be - he's had a long enough rest!

Turkish Airlines Miles&Smiles-miles needed
CheshireTom replied to Cinali's topic in Airline Discussion
I transferred a load of EVA miles to another BM a few years back - a change in the airlines' schedules made them inconvenient (coupled with the emergence of the middle east carriers at my local airport) so I figured it was a better option than them simply expiring. If I meet the BM some day, I'm sure he'll buy me a drink. This was before EVA joined Star ... obviously a slightly different scenario from the Turkish example (if they are an Alliance member). -
Sam'll be over the moon - think of how much he could save on bus fares!

World Cup, want to watch in Pattaya
CheshireTom replied to benny27's topic in General Discussion about Pattaya
Apart from anything else, the commentaries may all be in Thai - I've seen nothing so far to suggest that any Thai programming is aimed at farangs. If that remains the case, you'll be better off finding somewhere with the full Astro package (not just Supersport 1) - Samui and Phuket have loads of places, I'm not so sure about Pattaya. Personally, if I was in the UK, I wouldn't consider coming to Pattaya during the WC - if I was going to holiday, the Caribbean/Central/South America area is where I'd be looking. What's the likes of Honduras or Costa Rica like for a holiday? It could be a good -
So does Udon Thani and most other large provincial towns. Lots of guys prefer to/are compelled to stay in LOS on the back of a multi-entry visa rather than an extension of stay. That's one reason why you have all those border run companies in Pattaya to choose from. Up to you. As per the OP, "Apart from Pattaya (if for whatever reason it wasn't an option)"

In another thread about the forthcoming World Cup, a couple of BMs, for some strange reason, seemed a bit perplexed as to why I won't be supporting England, as opposed to Colombia or even, say, Japan during the competition. So, as a way of a bit of an explanation ... Several years ago (during the 2006 World Cup), myself and another couple of boardies had what can only be described as a bit of a pig-out at Poseidon in Bangkok. In the downstairs bar, all of the hostess/server girls were dressed in tight-fitting national footie tops which I thought was a lot better than the normal
