United BKK-NRT possibly being eliminated 3/30/2014
CheshireTom replied to MM's topic in Airline Discussion
ANA, JAL, Thai, Delta and one Thai charter service the route (in addition to United). The recent decision by Japan to waive/relax visa requirements for various ASEAN countries will, presumably, encourage more folk to use the route. -
Of course, there's always the economy option ...

You have to keep in mind that at the likes of Thai AirAsia X (and other LCCs), due to launch its first routes early next year", are going to have an impact on the BKK-Japan market (albeit Tokyo Haneda, and not Narita). -
United BKK-NRT possibly being eliminated 3/30/2014

It certainly reads like it will be an ANA codeshare beyond Narita and the aircraft will be deployed elsewhere. I think the trouble with BKK is that the aircraft may appear full, but that's no good to the airline if everyone's on the cheapest tickets or using miles. Are there no other carriers, such as Asiana, that are an option? -
You can get Toyota or Thai Rung MPV taxi at the public taxi stand. If there isn't one in the immediate queue, they'll call one forward from the holding pen - there's always plenty around. The airport (BKK) is meant to be introducing a better queueing system quite soon ... you log your destination and preferred taxi size and wait for your number (or something along those lines).

easy on a mac ... ü ä ö ... simply hold down the character and you'll get a list of the various (common) options ... simply choose the one you want. Comes in handy for discussing the dangers of Pattaya's Fußgängerübergänge ... or listing some of the Premier League's foreign players e.g. Bergović, Arnautović, Džeko, Jääskeläinen, Özil, Szczęsny, etc ...

Don't forget Dortmund v München.

It looks like the availability is settling down a bit ... we just need a quick sale from them now to get the price down to around (or under 100k). I'd take that, if offered. The offerings in economy don't seem too clever though ...

At least until someone drops 10p on the floor ....

My bad re the schedule ... I think the availability of discounted (D Class) seats will change over the next few weeks ...

Sam, Thanks for that. Good times ex BKK, unfortunately it seems like a bit of a long layover at Doha on the way to back .... As soon as they have a decent sale, it may be tempting ... The 1-2-1 layout in the 787 Biz class looks good though ...

If you open a Kasikorn account, make sure you do it wherever you are going to be making the majority of your withdrawals. There is an ATM charge (15 Baht?) for "outside clearing area" withdrawals.

Don't forget the tarts' volleyball. Those pesky Brazilians look OK ...

Mick, It takes me all my time to plan 2 weeks in advance, never mind 2 years. I'm going to Edinburgh next May, but I know as soon as I book via AMS, FRA or LHR that one of the middle east airlines will announce direct flights from the Gulf into Edinburgh.

The re-entry permit will have the same validity as your current extension of stay. I don't use Jomtien but I understand they can be a bit picky if your "planned departure date" is more than a couple of weeks away.
-
A multi-entry costs 3.8k Baht and is valid for the same period of time as your current extension of stay. Best to get a single (or a couple of singles, as needed), and get a multiple along with your next extension of stay.

I think you really mean "This is Pattaya" - not everywhere shares the city's problems. I've never really had a problem with the local plod ... and the signing is pretty self-explanatory ... green for go, red for don't go.

The first links shows a watch that's out of stock ... basically, that means it's not available. The second link shows a watch that was sold in in UK a couple of months ago ... basically, that means it's not available. Maybe you should make Tommy an offer ...

And the new one for 13.5K Baht is where?
