If you are just going to catch a taxi in BKK, just go outside the arrival hall, and flag down a METERED TAXI and make sure the driver turns on the meter! Its a good idea to have the directions to your hotel written down in Thai, as they do on the back of my hotels business card.

I think if you went on the thai "som tam" diet, you would lose weight easily. That green papaya salad for breakfast, lunch and dinner is a smoking hot diet and is the rage of all those slim and trim thai girls!

I think I will skip all the crap, and next time just go upstairs to the arrival section, and start asking who is going to Pattaya for 1200bt including tolls. Maybe I will find another nice driver like Paul Pat? I know that everyone is on the kickback system there, maybe I 'll try asking an airport security guard, which driver is going to Pattaya in Thai?

Those of you that use Khong Fa, Chok Dee to you! I posted this awhile back after they gave me a very bad time, after flying 18hours, and 1 1/2 hours on a taxi at my hotel. The irate phone call was quite discomforting, over the phone, I felt like they wanted to send the driver to: 1) collect the money 2) collect the money and give a free muay thai lesson As a business owner, I realize that if you dont provide the service at the given time, you do not get paid, if you do not show up you dont get paid. I was stood up at BKK and they still wanted to get paid?

All I got was a phone call from the lady that runs it, she said they wanted 1000bt and they wanted to send someone to pick it up. I had to "tip" the front desk people to say that I was checked out and they lost a customer. It cost me a 300bt tip (3 people, 100bt each). I originally offered 200bt for gas and parking, but the lady insisted on 1000bt and offered to have a driver to pick it up! That really made my holiday start off on a sour note.

I was not picked up by them, and they later called my hotel demanding 1000baht for them not taking me to pattaya. I waited for 10 minutes in the pickup hall, and nobody had a sign with my name. I had to go upstairs and catch a ride from a taxi, luckily I found Paul Pat and he took me right to my hotel with out even asking for directions where it was. I have had to block all phone calls to my name at my hotel and it is a pisser! My friends (females) cant contact me. Avoid Khong Fa taxi!

I am staying at the baybreeze, I reserved it in advance for 500bt a night. I was there for a month last time, and it was during high season, they turned away a walk up falang right in front of me. And they held my room for me! I only have good things to say about baybreeze! 6 more days to go!

I forgot to mention they wont give a rats a$$ about your reservation, I called in 4 hours ahead in Taipei, to tell them I was coming late and hold my room. I get there and they wanted to charge me 1000bt more that I was reserved for. They gave away my room. Besides the roaches and the reservation problem the hotel is OK. I just hope you dont mind lots of roaches
