False. Many Gogo bar girls have commented to me that they chose to go with me because I was dressed smart, wearing nice shoes, in fact, several different ladies told me 'the shoes' is the first thing they look at. One of the reasons I asked some of these girls why they chose to go with me and not someone else in the bar that night was because it was approaching high season, bar was packed to the rafters and they all had many customers to choose from, so curiosity is what made me ask. I've seen it first hand too, I remember wearing trouser, smart short sleeved shirt, and some decent shoes one night and a scruffy looking fellow next to me wearing tatty t-shirt, shorts and running shoes that looked about 12 years old was bragging how little he pays, yet when he called over dancer #1 that we were both eyeing, she I heard her tell him 'no I don't like you, I like him', pointing at me, which wiped the smug look off his face, he stayed on talking to other women but they all refused him, he left empty handed, but he did look that scuffy you could be forgiven for thinking he was sleeping rough lol. Do not make the mistake of thinking my post is stating the women are 'somehow impressed' by smart attire, maybe they are, maybe they aren't, what I'm actually saying is that these women DO JUDGE a customers money potential off appearance, similar to the fact that Thai's see fat people as people that can 'afford to eat'. That is why your statement is false.

Another way of looking at that is dress well and you might not be looked upon as a total dickhead.

I would normally suggest MM as the man to ask as he usually takes pics of events such as this but he was busy witnessing another type of lunar eclipse apparently.

Do they actually process these drink drivers down at the police station or is it just another excuse for a thai man in plain clothes and riding a motorbike to be summoned over by the nice uniformed gentleman who then hands over your 'fine' to him. A bit like the helmet scam, fining whoever they feel like, rather than the large amount of other people all sitting at the very same red traffic light, also without a helmet but magically invisible to this uniformed gentleman's eye.

A vastly underrated player, I suggested he was a class player in another thread and was shot down, not 'world class' mind like Zindane & co, just class for English football and certainly someone that ranks highly by those who can see the bigger picture, anti Man U muppets and spandex sport loving know nothing yanks are hardly worth arguing with, which is why I haven't bothered. Arguing on the internet with ankle biters is a waste of time. Anyway, the point of this thread is to pay respect to someone I've often admired because despite his clumsy tackling as pointed out by one of the muppets, this is a guy that would arrive at the right time with perfection, a silent assassin, deadly in and out the box, I fondly remember that volley against Villa for example, absolute corker, in his later years when he dropped pace through age, he reinvented himself by focusing on the passing side of his game, these are the kind of things that separate average players from great or class players. I solute you Scholesy, one of Man U's better players in Fergie's era, IMO better than that baby buntin twat Ronaldo who spent more time lollipoping himself and crying than anything else yet gets all the accolades just because of 'one season', Scholes has quietly gone about the business of controlling midfield for what seems like forever, I rate Giggs a bit higher for his skill, but Scholes is still a legend for what he has brought to the game, a model professional and worthy of any school boys aspirations. The above quotes are just a small handful of tributes, but I think they say it all really. Enjoy your retirement Mr Scholes, you've earned it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D8RAGxGs4j0

That's the trouble for Man Utd, it's lonely at the top. I support a non league team myself and often ponder what all this hate is about, it's been going on for 2 decades, well, since Red Faced Fergie made them successful is the truth. The latest bickering is this so called 'Ferige time', in spite of other teams also having 4,5,6 minutes added on, I think even a certain well known rival to Man U, had 8 minutes? added on at the end of their half this season just gone, do people class all this added on time in games not involving Man U as 'Fergie Time' also? My Dad, an Aston Villa fan explained things fairly well I think, the reason I asked him the question was that I noticed most people at work seemed to be backing Bayern Munich on the day of the 99 final, nobody (English people that are allegedly fit to wear three lions on their chest ) wanted the ENGLISH TEAM WITH A LONG AND PROUD & WORKING CLASS HISTORY IN ENGLISH FOOTBALL to win.....anyway, I asked what this was all about? How could any self respecting English person not wish 'whatever' English team that reached a final good luck? Put their domestic differences aside so to speak, and say, now you've got there, go and win it for English football, an advert for our Premier League, the opposition were German too, a country we were once at war with, considering most English keep banging on about the war with an Anti-German feeling, this made it all the more puzzling. ''It's not about football son' replied my dad, you see, in his experience of seeing fans bicker at other fans, the truth is, most of them channel the reality of their own life's disappointments or failures at anything that is an easy target, the media do this too, if you are at the top of the tree, you are there to be shot at by those who suffer from that awful bitter, jealous resentment of anything successful, because their life, is in fact, probably quite shit. Some fans however, are just simply thick as shit boneheads who can't see the bigger picture, the types that collect Banning Orders like trophies. Losers.

Those that know something about football know that Scholes was one of England's best midfielders in his day, those that actually make a living from the game say this, those in this thread cackling like silly hyenas only show themselves up as know nothing fools.

I actually predicted they would win it back in August last year, they have been developing for a few years now and have turned into the 'harlem globetrotters' of football, an almost unstoppable machine, they can be beat, but you have to really ride your luck against them as Man U did the year they met Chelsea in the final and as Inter Milan did last season, whoever they play, just expect wave upon wave of attack coming at you, because that's how it's going to be. I'm not a betting man myself, other than lottery tickets, but to those who are, I think you can perhaps think about betting on Barca for the next 3 to 5 years easy, to win the Spanish league and cup, to win the Champions league final, they may even be the first team to retain it in a long time next year. I'm also going to predict that Spain will reach the Euro final and be the first international team to win 3 trophies consecutively, France won 2 but then fizzled out, Spain won't be fizzling in my view, they have 2 of the best midfielder's (Xavi and Iniesta) I've seen in a long time and tick every other box too, just like Barca do. Cheshire Tom, you mention 99 but forgot something so basic? The 99 Man U team had a class (not world class like Barca) midfield, by comparison, the current midfield setup are incredibly average at best, only Giggs and Scholes have any class but both are ageing, the rest are not fit to tie the laces of Keane and Beckham. So there's my top tips for you gamblers, don;t know what odds you'll get for Barca or Spain but they have to be worth a punt.

Can we have some kinda snakeskin theme in the forum skin options? I think that would be a fitting tribute to one Talk's Hall-O-Fame posters with his infamous 'snakes with tits' quote. -

Russians in Pattaya
butterflyblonde replied to peckerwood's topic in General Discussion about Pattaya
*Puts on rose tinted glasses* For me, part of the travel experience is meeting all the different people I encounter along the way, from all over the world, in the same way I used to enjoy spending time in farmer country up north, meeting people away from tourism areas and finding out about their lives and what makes them tick, I'm always interested to meet people, find out about them, I may even get on some people's nerves with the amount of questions I may ask. LOL I travel alone though and this makes you feel more inclined to chat with a stranger, that could be someone on the train en route to the airport, in an airport, in a shared taxi to Bangkok, in a Pattaya bar, on a beach somewhere, you get the picture. I'm a social-able person as well, (must be the Scottish side of my family rather than English?) but while I appreciate not everyone wants to socialise in the same way, I don't understand why people see this or that race as a negative thing, we could all pick fault with 'what we don't like about the Brits, the French, the Russians' but the truth is, just about every race is far from the perfect guest on foreign soil. I remember meeting some American Marines that had just come from Sri Lanka, helping to deal with the post Tsunami misery, before meeting them in this Gogo bar, I'd already got chatting to this really friendly (yet a little crazy) Russia guy who was full of fun and life, then the Americans came and joined in the party and we all had a great time, a really touching moment for me was when these marines realised the guy next to me was Russian and all took turns to give this guy a hug. (A cold war thing I presume) That for me, is what makes trips great, the experiences of meeting new people, along with the obvious added bonus of lot's of sexy girls of course.
