  1. I know that 9000 to 12000 is a 33 % increase - but I really think your budget is too tight for enjoyment if 3000 baht extra per month is bothering you Still - to each their own - and I wish you a wonderful vacation
  2. I am not sure what have been going on with TQ2 Alf - but I hope all will turn out well - I am sure it will help to get you back in Pattaya.
  3. I really deserve my vacations - but even I don“t deserve them as much as you deserve this vacation - I hope you have a blast
  4. Wish I could Alf - but I might have a shot at the "Welcome Back Drinks" ;-)
  5. I am convinced Peter is right here and much prefer to drop the change in one of the many boxes from certified charities that is in most of the bars.
  6. Thanks guys - impressive with fast answers. I had checked "Seat Guru" - but needed the info from "Flight Status" so extra thanks to CheshireTom and Evil Penevil
  7. Hello Gentlemen, Does anyone know which airplanes are used on the flights listed below - or have links to good sites for looking it up: Swiss LX1273 Swiss LX0182 SAS SK0972 Thanks in advance
  8. I'm absolutely convinced that you CAN buy a KVM switch in Thailand
  9. What a shame - U Tapao to Clack would have been so perfect
  10. I have just completed another pleasant stay at the Residence Garden. I probably should not post this as it already can be hard to book a room because of high occupancy - but fair is fair. I have stayed at sevaral hotels in Pattaya in this price range (and cheaper) such as: Sabai Lodge, Sandy Spring, Dynasty Inn, High Five, Thai Archer, Metro Appartments, The Rockhouse, Jasmin Hotel, Jasmine Mansions, Canterbury Tales, Welkom Inn, and a few more. For what it is worth IMHO the Residence Garden is the best value for money closely followed by Metro Apartments. Sabai Lodge and Sandy Springs are nice too. The traffic on Thepraya road was a small annoyance but plenty of baht busses AND I can walk from RG to the center of walking street in 10-15 minutes (which to me signifies that the location is fairly central). book a room
  11. Congratulations on the new job Badtz - I had just about given up on Dollhouse but I think a new visit will be in the cards :-)
  12. Have a great birthday Alf - wish I could be there (admittedly more because I missed getting to know Ann a lot better last time around) ;-)
  13. I have a sour shoulder because of too much work (and play) with a computer mouse. I would like to get the shoulder and arm skillfully massaged (perhaps as a part of a full body massage - but the arm/shoulder are the most important) Can any of the boardies recommend a place/person to get this treatment ?
  14. Stayed at Secrets about two weeks in October. I liked the place and found it good VFM. In high season I would call it a bargain since the 750-950 thb/night is the same all year.
  15. Thanks onelilley - I probably would like to visit Krabi more - because I was never there - but Phuket might win just because I can fly there from U-tapao
  16. I KNOW I am a terrible cynic - but if kindhearted people paid all the girls NOT to work in the bars Pattaya would not really be the same for me. Too many sponsors for my taste already
  17. I am planning to visit either Phuket or Krabi for a week with a female friend. Nightlife is not that important but a nice beach within reasonable distance is a must. What is the opinion of the BM's - is Phuket or Krabi the best destination (and why) ? Which location in Phuket and Krabi respectively will be best (good peaceful beach) ? I obviously need a hotel - I am aware that hotels will be more expensive than in Pattaya. I'm looking for something like Sandy Spring or Areca Lodge - qualitywise - any recommandations in the two locations ?
  18. Great pics - efforts are appreciated
  19. Does Mrs. Boss give Golf lessons ?
  20. Sounds like it will be a big evening in Catz - too bad I cannot attend
  21. Naturally you (and any bar owner) can do as they want. No need to debate that. Basically I would not call most of the go go's show bars. That is fine by me - If I want a good show I visit a show bar - if I want to barfine I visit a regular bar/go go. No - way too many from the Ibiza crowd now - but even those guys are getting smarter. I hear high season wasn't that high or that long in most of the bars (yours excluded naturally ) even though walking street and the hotels were full. I think most of us know that a business relationship is really successful if both parties can be reasonably content - in this case that is both the customers and bar owners
  22. Very nice of you to accept it - when you never pay a barfine From 500 to 1000 is a 100 % rise. I'm pretty sure most of the visitors to Pattaya did NOT have a 100 % pay rise in the period. If you did did Dave I think the BF should lower the prices Not sure it will help them a lot listening to the russian or korean/chinese crowds - but who knows I think it would be better if they also listened to the guys actually on their barstolls - but quite a few of those are also members of the boards
  23. Well done Alan - and when you even help the customers by telling about the skills of some of the Ladies it should be a winning concept - as long as the necessary quality is present
